Cedric mentioned to me this morning...

Hooray! Something to give for Christmas to those who already have Firefly and Serenity!

BTW, if you're thinking Christmas will be gone too soon to give this gift, just remember that historically, the Twelve Days *start* with Christmas Eve, and the Yuletide is not really over until Twelfth Night/Three Kings Day, which is in early January. So late presents aren't really late; they're just historically accurate!

Something to keep in mind, eh? :)

Checking the CafePress site, it looks like we've sold 44 copies of the cookbook so far! :) And it looks like 8 of those from 5 orders have been completed already today. So I suspect that those 5 orders either went out today or will go out tomorrow.

How shiny is that??? :)

Y'all are more than welcome! :) I was happy to do it.

Today, CafePress sent this email...

--------------------------

Hello Shopkeepers,

As you may have read on the CafePress Community Forum, we're experiencing a targeted Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, which is causing significant service interruptions. As of right now some customers have access that appears normal, some have intermittent access, and some have no access at all. We will continue to update the CafePress Community Forum ( http://forums.cafepress.com/eve) as we have more to share, and we urge you to check there for the most recent information.

A DDoS attack prevents access to a web site by its users. You can compare this to 500 people trying to enter a retail store through the same door at the exact same moment. This congestion prevents consistent and easy flow of traffic to the site. There has not been a breach of information.

A DDoS attack is a computer crime and violates Internet proper use policy as dictated by the Internet Architecture Board, and we are now working with the proper authorities. For this reason we are not able to share any additional details at this time.

More information about DDoS attacks can be found easily online with a quick Google or Wikipedia search.

We do consider this an attack on CafePress, but we're most disturbed at how this victimizes our community of Shopkeepers. If you have specific questions please contact cphelp@cafepress.com and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your continued understanding,

Jill Ambrose

I was so busy with the cookbook this year, I didn't have time to record any new Christmas music. But I wanted to make sure that y'all had the links for my recordings from last year. :) Here they are!

At Whedonesque, another user posted some good info about CafePress and how you can get a discount on your order that doesn't effect how much of the book proceeds go to Freedom From Hunger:

"There's a $5 off $20 coupon code - "camerasalts". The coupon applies only to the cost of the item (not shipping), so, because the cookbook is $19.95 you have to buy something else in order to get the $5 off. Also, flat rate shipping is free (at least in the US) if your order is over $50."

Thought you might like to know! :)
