That I just finished watching Firefly & Serentiy last week for the first time. And WOW! It was of course better then I expected!

I was on The X-Files boards for along time until the bitter & awlful end. I heard about FF over there and resisted getting involved in another SciFi TV show because of the sad experience with TXF. The best part ever was talking to Chris Carter at one point!

So I apologize to all Browncoast & other FF fans for not joining the cause earlier. There is just so much CRAP on TV lately, I just get so fustrated and refuse to watch anything!

No need to apologize Spacegirl 32…. You’re on board now and that’s what counts. Welcome to the site. It’s good to have a place to talk about our favorite programs. Like you said, there is a lot of crap on the tube, so when something comes along like X-Files or Firefly you just don’t want it to end. At least TXF had a good run. (and I was big fan as well)…

If you stick around, you’ll find that most of us are here for Firefly and Serenity related discussions, but actually we’re pretty much Joss Whedon fans, and you will notice quite a bit of Buffy and Angel talk as well. Both great shows, IMHO, but Firefly was something special. There was just so much more of that story that needed to be told, and that’s our hope, that someday, somehow there will be more. But if not, it’s good to know that there are people who appreciate good stories and not just the American Idol, Dancing Star, Fattest Loser junk that seems to be the flavor of the day…… believe me, I have been tempted to drop that idiot box down the well a few times, but at those times I watch a few eps of FF and the feeling passes….

Once again, Welcome.

Well, since noone's got a handle on the "some sort of melted cheese", I get to hand you some of that. And, um, the juggling geese, you can have some of those, too.

Yeah. YAY, us! Hello, and welcome to our ranks. Whoo, you are now ... yeah. You're one of us, and we look out for we and ours.

*sobs*
Told you I would. It's like... amazing! The first in the trilogy is called Northern Lights, but I think it was retitled for American publishing as 'The Golden Compass' for unknown reasons (they are making a movie called the same). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/His_Dark_Materials
I urge you to read them, if its the last thing you do!
And I'm super thanks how are you?

Howdy fellow Browncoats! I'm another new recruit to the ranks, new to this board but I'ev been a FF/Serenity fan since last year when I first sat down to watch the DVD's. Completely missed the series on TV which isn't a major shock, I've watched little TV the past several years. Seeing Firefly on DVD just reminded me why, the networks just keep screwing up. They're so into the whole 'reality tv' thing which is nothing more than extremely low paid 'actors' in an ad-lib/semi-scripted and controlled environment. People eat that crap up so they keep spewing it out, heaven forbid they hired WRITERS and put out STORIES. lol

Heck, I missed out on the first 3 seasons of '24' too until I caught that on DVD. Same with The Shield, both shows I LOVE now and two of the very few I actually make sure I sit down to watch. FOX can really put out good stuff when they want to, amazing how they can screw up greatness like FF and in the past (another of my faves) Space Above and Beyond.

We need to get Bill Gates to sit down and watch FF/Serenity, maybe he'll become a Browncoat too and foot the bill for about 30 more seasons. :)

That is Causal's stupid assed way of thinking this thread got hijacked by you and fitch..and you two turned it into a literary circle jerk. He can be an arrogant little monkey sometimes. I also think he has a strong sexual desire to stroke frog dicks.

Hooray! I've made it onto the list of people hated by Kaneman! It's a very prestigious list, you know.

Welcome SPACEGIRL32,FITCH66,FERALL amd MOEZILLA

I really enjoy when a group of SHINY new recruits walk up the ramp. There are brown coats in a storage locker somewhere around here. FOLLOWMAL knows where they are and has the key. Make yourself to home. Check out the engine room but be careful of any "Terrible Space Monkeys" in there. Grab some mudders milk as you pass through the galley and you may be able to sneek a couple of strawberries out of Kaylee's bowl.Just don't let her catch you.

Anyhoo,enjoy the boat :)

I'll be in my bunk,Z

Welcome Moezilla!

I too am a new recruit (I just got my virtual browncoat and apparently there are so many newbies right now they're handing old used coats-mine smells funky, but fits well) FF was a great holiday gift this year, I see. I haven't been here long enough to hand you a coat but I'm lending a hand with the tea service. I make a great EarlGrey/Green! Floralbunny apparently likes Oolong so see her if you like that better.
It's nice to see so many people who appreciate good stories!

Welcome IREMIST

That odor may be just Inaras incense or air that was left over from our last trip to Higgin's Moon. I wouldn't worry to much it goes away. I'm sure there are some newer brown coats around. They are a very popular idem so they might be stored in one of those really hard to find spots on the ship.

Anyhoo, glad to have you onboard also.

Whoa.. look at all the new recruits!! THIS IS SOOOO SHINY!! and there's TEA!! loverly.

soo hello to everyone.. sorry bad with names and there are just so many!! glad to see you all here swelling the ranks .. and well, swelling ( you might want to see the Doc about that..)

Dark Materials is AWESOME>> also recommend! I preferred the Subtle Knife (#2) but it is a great story. Read them before Hollyweird ruins them.. I mean ok, I can See Daniel Craig as Asrial but deleting all mention of the authority? NO not even CLOSE to being ok...

these books are ALL about fighting the authority. I give them to all the pre teens I know.. cus I believe in subversion...

Chindi I aim to misbehave! and I'll have my tea with milk please...

I'll take one of each tea's please. :) Btw, keep this quiet but I snagged a bunch of apples Jayne just brought aboard, these one's he's not sharing so we can't let him know. Not to worry though, he's too busy in the galley cleaning Vera.

Thanks for the shiny new coat, it fits perfectly! Couple of laser burns and bullet holes but I like it, it fits my style just fine.

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Welcome aboard Spacegirl32 & thanks for finally giving Firefly a chance. Don't worry about being late to the party, it's still going strong and better late than never, right?

Be sure to spread the word to all you know so they can find the joy and enthusiasm that you have found.

Take care & keep flyin'!

JORUNE

Welcome and join in the love. I recently finished rewatching the series and I found a lot more than I did in previous viewings.

I have to credit the whole production team as it is such a group effort. I was watching War Stories and seeing Kaylee and Simon out on their first date and I was struck by Jewel Staite's performance.

There was such light in her eyes and I felt that she did an excellent job in communicating Kaylee's joy and hope at a potential future with Simon. She was in a dress not overalls and it helped to highlight how this moment could be a transformation for her character. More than that it was the lighting on her face by the crew, director who helped and directed her performance.

That is the true heart of this show, all for one and all have won.

FLORALBUNNY

Oh, my, let me be just a little late getting
here and I find a whole crowd of new 'coats
clamoring for berries and Milk.

Which I have brought in the shuttle here. Along
with fuel for the cheese-heater, cleaning fluid
for the recycled coats, and two whole cartons of
ice-planets.

It's simply shiny to see you all here. Just need
a couple of volunteers to unload and carry this
stuff, thank you so very much.

We'll be working up the buffet for a good questioning
in an hour or two, so stow your stuff and wander
on up to the galley.

And be sure to spread the Firefly love far and wide.
