...a Browncoat won the Powerball lottery and decided to donate enough money to fully fund a 2nd season? Say $30 million to cover 13 complete episodes. Would any network want to run an essentially free (from a production standpoint) show?

This is something I always think/fantasize about when I look at my ticket right before the numbers are drawn.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

If I won powerball the first thing I would do would be quit my job. The second thing I would do would be to call Joss and/or Universal and start the Big Damn Sequel rolling.

Donating your lottery winnings is a noble thought, but I'm not sure it's necessary.

Look at shows like Friends or Seinfeld...those actors made a million dollar each salary per episode...when you add in the actual production costs the episodes could have exceeded 10 million per week.

The key is the advertisers...the advertisers, aka sponsors...that's the ticket I believe to a resurrected Firely series. The Browncoats ought to locate and determine who amongst the millions of fans is best qualified and able to pitch the show to corporate America ( small executive group), then go on a campaign to recruit sponsors.

Once the sponsors are lined up, any network would take it.

Just an FYI, but I went to high school with Deborah Oppenheimer. She is the President of Mohawk Productions...she has produced the Drew Carey Show, The Freddy Prinze Show, The George Lopez Show, The Hogan Family, and The Norm Show among others. I have not seen or spoken to her since graduation in 1971, but I know she can be reached at Deborah.Oppenheimer@warnerbrothers.com.

I was in college with Ari Tepper (NYC theatrical producer now).
She seemed quite nice. Had her head on straight so far as I could tell. We never worked on anything together in school. I didn't really hang out with anyone once I left the building for home. Not a big shmoozer, me.

She'd probably love Firefly if she ever saw it. I seem to remember her having a sense of humor.

Live, on stage, and reeeeeaaaaaallllly tired: It's the BDHs! Three shows a day, every day!
(Maybe she'd like to branch out into film and TV if she hasn't already?)
