SAVE THE DATE!!!

I hereby announce the first ever THIS-LAND Shindig in Gainesville, Florida

Date: Saturday, March 10, 2007
Time: 2pm – 11pm (flexible, come and go as you please)
Location: Gainesville, Florida (Private residence. For directions, e-mail shindig@this-land.net)

All Browncoats are welcome! Come for an hour or for the day, but we'll be having so much fun, you won't want to leave. Junior Browncoats are welcome as none of our activities will constitute "contributing to the delinquency of a minor." Dinner will be made by one of our very ambitious friends, so we'll be requesting $5 donation to cover the cost of food. The cuisine will be some mix of Chinese and American, a la Firefly, and of course we'll have strawberries. The day will be filled with pleasant conversation, games, swimming, and raffles. Weather permitting, we'll break out the telescope and go stargazing in the evening!

If you're interested, please RSVP to shindig@this-land.net so we can send you directions.

Hope you can come!

Psst,

At your shindig, maybe you could discuss having a Serenity Charity Screening in June 2007.

Fans of Serenity arranged 47 screenings last year and raised over $65,000 for charity.

http://cantstoptheserenity.com
Fans in 8 countries, 42 cities have expressed interest in holding screenings this June.

Only one in Florida last year was FL, Tampa.

They are planning another Tampa screening this year.

I posted your message over on

Very aware of the Tampa screening because it was, in fact, the first time I ever saw Serenity! Was planning to go back as sort of a "Serenity Anniversary" for me. People drove to Tampa from places much farther than Gainesville and I'd worry that having two screenings in such close proximity would create undue competition. However, I'll bring it up. :)

Sorry, didn't realize the cities were that close. Maybe there will be one in Miami. I think that is pretty far.
