Glad to see Flyvote is officially fairgame, however, HE CALLED US BROWNSHIRTS!!!! Its browncoats! Brownshirts were 1930s Italian Fascists...not something we want to be associated with.

By the by...BSG jumped up two more spots today and looks to do the same tomorrow. That will but them in the top 30. They're moving fast with almost 500 a day.

All averages relative to Dec 1 first except BSG which is Dec 21 (the day they hit top 40). Midmonth, I'll cut the average to be relative to Jan 1. Or maybe I'll add ave to Jan 1 column... who knows?

Hiya Ace...it was a special "vote date"....organized about a month ahead of time
and everybody was supposed to go onto all the
boards they knew about...and ask friends/coworkers to vote on that one day... even one time. That's what the "big" day was about. Afraid if we use it too often people won't take part.

Actually the Dec 1st vote day brought in 1200 if I'm not mistaken. Our record (the record ) was set when somone on whedonesque.com posted about the site. Shortly there after it dropped off the sites main page and our numbers fell to around 1000 and what they are now (just shy of 1000).

If I'm not mistaken.

I'm sure the Brown Shirt comment was an honest Freudian slip ;-)

Flat top already noted that Xfiles is likely to pass QAF tomorrow, so I wont ;-)

I will mention that BSG is likely to slide into postion 30 tomorrow, so it will then be a "top 30" show.

Trapper John, MD got a bit of boost going into the Top 40, they are pulling down close to 300 votes a day; if they continue that trend for a very long time, they are likely candiates for a top 10 seat.

Not much to note about the Nomination poll; other than...
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood
has gone from 1135 (tie for last)on 12/26 to 222 today. Looks like it could be the work of a single fan. Wonder who (tries to look innocent; fails miserably)? O shucks, I just noticed that there wasn't a single decent kids show in the top 40, and thought... here's a good candidate when I saw it lingering tied for last place (one vote). Anyway, just mentioning it in passing (tries the innocent look again).

To be honest, I didn't even notice that it was "shirt" not "coat." I'm just saying. When you're running a campaign to get your fellow fans to vote, you can't start insulting them (vomit? eww...) when they don't meet your expectations.

Not sure where to go with this... probably should just lean back in my chair, and smile... but it seems my fingers just won't stop...

The person who made the original brown shirt misstatement was not a FFF member ... not sure if that helps or not. And said person did appologize, for any who care to keep track of such things.

I personally prefered to interpret the vomit icon as a reference to the brown shirts (who are not commonly considered to have been very nice people; read here if you wish...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturmabteilung
) as opposed to being directed to the person who made the comment. In any event, having said way to much for someone on the periphery of this issue....

BUMP.

Not everyone on this list may know that the main reason Trapper John MD is crawling into the Top 40 is that the star, Pernell Roberts, was one of the original Cartwright sons on, you guessed it, Bonanza. He played Adam, the oldest son, and left the show after a few seasons. So that means Bonanza fans are supporting at least 3 shows: Bonanza, Ponderosa and Trapper John MD. I also know (from lurking on one of their lists) that a lot of them are fans of Star Trek (OS and TNG).

sorry, I've been a little off the weather lately and haven't posted. However I voted even more and Lexx got a nice 253 votes today, while Firefly almost beated 1000! I hope it's not an almost tomorrow.
I'm going to the Farscape bored to offer them a deal now. Gunsmoke is just another motive for me to go there and these newbies from down below look pretty scary with their 300+ per day

The Vomitting was directed at Brownshirts, the muscle behind facism in the WWII era.
Referring to Browncoats, (that's us) a very loose affiliation of folk who don't want the feds interfering with them, who can't even get 500 people to each cast two votes in a day (that would make 1,000 votes, a mark we haven't hit in a while); as among the most structured, organized and oppressive political/military machines in history drew a rather indignant excalmation, "Indeed".
I was attempting to rouse the ire of my fellow Browncoats at being referred to as Brownshirts. Rather like the reposting of comments made on certain other boards that thought they had a chance at beating us, and referred to 'Squashing Firefly like a bug'.

Top 10 + BSG; I -think- I've correctly made the adjustment for x-files passing QaF; but feel free to advise if you think the numbers look odd...

title total dayDelta totDec1 aveDec1
Xena: Warrior Princess 180647 492 23,771 553
Bonanza 149116 675 27,762 646

Lexx 52858 192 8,610 200
BSG 14690 449 8,732 380

We had a nice above average "close" rate yesterday on both #1 and #2.

For the nominations...
The Little House on the Prairie has caught on fire... they've been running over 149+ votes a day for the past three. To be honest, I thought "Combat" was going to pass them and be the next top40; however, if they can keep up the vote rate and Combat does not rally, Little House will be the next top40 entry.

Space 1999 should pop into the top 10 of the nominations list tomorrow.

Mr. Rogers continues his slow climb up the charts.
Sesame Street is, and has been, mired at 21 votes for a while.
The Electric Company hasn't been paid in a while and still only has it's original nomination vote.

... Personally, I never watched the Electric Company much, I would be hard pressed to vote for it. On the other hand, if I saw that Sesame St. was starting to move... well... I just might vote for that.

This is another show that might get more Bonanza support once it gets closer to the Top 40: The star, Michael Landon, played the youngest Cartwright son, Little Joe.
