G'day
A new aussie fan here, just in the last few weeks I've gone through the rollercoaster ride of firstly joy, and then heartbreak of discovering this AMAZING tv series called "Firefly" that is so original and unique, and then realising that it only had a short (but incredible) life.
Oh man....that's cruel.
I had actually seen 'Serenity' earlier in 2006, thought it was really good, knew I would watch it again and left it at that. Then just before Christmas someone lent us the Firefly DVD's and I was hooked big time.
It amazes me to think of some of the sh-t that lasts on tv for years, and yet this 'incredible show that was' was cancelled so early, I just can't get my head around that one. It is not logical! (As someone else has said before).
You Browncoats sound like an awesome bunch of people who could probably move mountains if you set your mind to it. Thank you for making Serenity happen. I'll be a fan forever.
Cheers.

"God grant me the Serenity....Pts 2, 3, 4......."

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Welcome home!

If you have any questions about the site there is probably a thread somewhere that answers them. Look around, read up a bit, and if you can't find what you need, just ask. Please dive right into the discussions, as we can always use more people to talk to!
FollowMal should be along at some point to give you a Virtual Browncoat, kind of a traditional greeting around here. I wear mine with pride. Others will be along to heap food upon you. It's all pretty good, but the ice planets can get a bit messy and problematic.

Hello Artisoxygen...and Welcome, welcome, welcome to our obsession! There are so many of us who came too late to the 'verse; and I and one of them who feels your pain. I truly think that there should be a name for the specific kind of "depression" we go through AFTER we watch the oh, too brief DVD's of the show and the movie...it lasts and lasts and you really do walk around under this awful cloud of Why, why, WHY ... the only answer I've come up with is that as a race, humans are circling the drain and just the dregs recognize the perfection of Joss Whedon's wonderful show-that-was "Firefly." Hello, fellow dreg!! Now that you're here...take a look around, vote for "Firefly" as the best TV show ever (richlabonte.net/tvvote)..it's just something you can do every hour to show your love of the show... join up over at SciFi (it's free) and do some creative begging to bring the show back (hey, it worked for "battlestar"...maybe, maybe) There are a number of letter-writing and e-mail campaigns to hook up with... keep pushing because Browncoats never give up...and once again, welcome!

It feels good to be 'home'.
Love to visit the U.S and participate in a browncoat gathering/shindig there one day. I envy those of you who can.
Next time I'm on that side of the planet...
Now I have to read up and find out how to include emoticons, pictures; etc....
Cheers! ;)

Welcome to the 'Verse, Artisoxygen!
You story sounds awefully familiar. There's lots of Firefly stuff for you to discover yet, but as far as the TV series goes, it doesn't look too good. So enjoy the other stuff, and hopefully our company.

I'm so into Firefly, my butt glows in the dark. A shiny beacon in space.

Welcome ArtIsOxygen!

I, like the extremely welcoming Magdalena, am also from the land of Oz . Brisbane to be exact.

We are all united here in our obsession for some quality TV, and as I said on some petition I signed recently, I can't understand why half of the crap that is still being produced is being produced when Firefly was axed. But have faith, fellow Browncoats, for we shall surely RISE AGAIN!!

Keep up the struggle, and I'd seriously suggest checking out some of the Fanfic in the BlueSun Room- we have some talented fic writers in our midst.

Hey 'BulletInTheBrainPanSquish'... Oy! Can I call you Bullet for short?

It's so shiny to meet you!! I'm in Melbourne, but I know there's another browncoat about who hails from near Toowoomba...

Nicodemus is from Adelaide, ShinyKitten & Bernard Browncoat are from Sydney and I met another Melbournian here once - but I think she is traveling at the moment...

Yay - we will be getting the series made in Australia at the rate we're going!!

Did I hear my name spoken? Yup.

I get mentioned before I get to post (thanks for making me look bad Magda :p ).

Anyway, as has been said already, I'm from Adelaide and am (usually) on here a lot. So welcome to the house of fun.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Welcome to the site ARTisOXYGEN. Glad to have you here with us. Pull up a chair and make yourself at home.

Thanks for sharing how you discovered the show. We all love reading how new fans discovered the best sci fi show in the 'verse.

Be sure to spread the word and share Firefl & Serenity with everyone you know. The more the merrier, right?

You'll figure it out, hon
A lot of the coding you need is on the left side of the screen as you're typing. Put /quote in brackets where magda's words end and yours begin and your problem is solved! Oh, might want to do /b, too, or yours will be bolded. You probably just deleted the coding on accident; no biggie. And don't be afraid to edit; the edit function is your friend
