Hey, I just found this video review of "White Noise" from the UK. It has MUCH more than the clips they are showing here. Several extended scenes with Nathan. It doesn't really give anything away, but it might take away the surprise of one "jumpy" scene- so beware. It freaked me out.

I don't like scary movies normally. But of course I just had to watch this clip.
While I'm alone at work.
While it's dark. While there's some strange noises outside my window.

Great.

Thank you for this, IHeartFirefly.
Jumpy, oh yes.. but great Nathany bits!

May I repost this over at the White Noise: The Light thread in the Bunk at serenitymovie.org?

I'll of course credit you.

OH! That scared the CRAP out of me!

But it was very good. I like whomever that strange-haired bloke is, he said nice things about Nathan. Called him a "Genuinely gifted actor" I think it was.

I wasn't interested in seeing this movie, but maybe I'll reconsider.

Hehe! Sorry about that.
I know, I watched it at home alone, but with all the lights on and my kitty in my lap, and I was still a bit freaked out.

I think it's the sound effects that really get me.

Woul dit be OK if I posted this on the Myspace white noise site and also on whitenoisethelight.net? Since the studio didn;t seem to be doing much promo a few of the Appreciatin' Nathan forum decided to take matters into our own netspace...*grin*

I found this picture of Nathan when I checked up on White Noise 2 at Rottentomatoes.com. Notice Nathan's shirt

Of course you may repost it! I was simply luckily bored enough to be searching 'round youtube.

Hey, thanks for the invite! Maybe I will stop by. :)

EDIT: Actually, I already am a friend of WN:TL on myspace. I'll bump it up to a top friend so the millions who visit my personal space will all go out and buy a ticket. ;)

Given that Slither sucked, and the first White Noise was one of the most boring movies I've ever seen (not to mention one of the worst), I will not be watching this.

In fact, the disappointing thing is, Fillion has only been in two good movies. I certainly hope that he'll get a decent offer eventually so that he can stop doing these pieces of junk.

While I disagree with the whole SLiTHER sucking part (For me it was a movie I had to see a second time to enjoy it. During the first viewing, I couldn't figure out the genre. Horror? mock-horror? comedy? But the second and subsequent times I've seen it, it has been SO enjoyable because I could just sit back and watch and laugh), I understand what you are saying about Nathan being in movies that people who have never met "Mal Reynolds" will naturally want to go and see.

The problem is, if we don't go see these movies to support him as an actor, the studios won't know he can draw any crowd at all.

Yes, the original "White Noise" was awful. In fact, it only got an 8% rating at rottentomatoes. Wow.

Funny story- I was at a panel thingy for SLiTHER and someone asked all the cast what their future plans were. They went down the line and when they got to Nathan, he said, "I'm starting filming on the sequel to "White Noise." The room completely fell silent- for a long, awkward moment- then out of the crowd someone simply asked, "why?"
Nathan felt a bit awkward, but he recovered and the whole room cracked up.

It seems it is getting some nice reviews in the UK, though, so don't write it off yet. For example,

Here’s a rare and mysterious phenomenon - a sequel that’s better than the original. And an unheralded sequel no one was particularly clamouring for, at that. White Noise, a surprise box office hit two years ago, was only a middling film. It was spooky alright and it had a good performance by Michael Keaton but its story didn’t do much with its intriguing, supernatural premise and it led up to a very lame ending. White Noise: The Light is a definite improvement. It’s still spooky and it has another impressive male lead, Nathan Fillion this time, however this one tells a far more compelling tale. Don’t let its sequel status (the script is only related to White Noise by subject matter) and the tacky promotional campaign put you off what is a pretty good horror film……

Ok, sorry about the long post. Defensive fangirl came out. ;)

xitwound117,

Have you seen the SLiTHER DVD extras yet? Nathan is in almost every single section of the DVD extras. Remember the Wrap party footage on the Firefly DVD. They gave Nathan a camera and he filmed some footage for the DVD extras. They merged some of Nathan's footage with what footage the crew took.

Remember the commentary on the Firefly episode: Serenity. Joss and Nathan did the commentary. Director James Gunn did the commentary with Nathan and I loved it. But then I loved the movie too.

Director James Gunn trys to crack up his actors to make them mess up. Michael Rooker didn't mess up. But James was able to get Nathan to crack up all the time. Lots of Nathan swearing. Gregg (Sheriff from Firefly episode: The Train Job) Henry never messed up during the filming of Slither.

One time a baby on the set was crying and Nathan...that was so funny.

And the "Who is Bill Pardy" section. Pure gold I tell ya. If you see the extras, you will understand why we think the line "I'm Bill Pardy" is so funny.

Hopefully, the White Noise people gave Nathan a camera to take footage. Also take part in the commentary.

You could rent it or borrow it from another Nathan Fillion fan.

IHeartFirefly,

I thought SLiTHER was funnier the second time I saw it in a theater too. I wasn't so scared about what was going to happen next and I wasn't so grossed out by the slimy.

I thought I remembered reading that at that panel Nathan recovered and got up to beat up the guy and Michael Rooker had to restrain him. And then the whole room cracked up.

Thanks for the clip and the positive review of White Noise: The Light.

I'll be going to see White Noise: The Light (Supernatural thriller) no matter what the critcs say.

And Waitress (A comedy/romance) too.

Love seeing Nathan on the Big Darn Screen.

And I'll be seeing Serenity around June 23, 2007 on the Big Darn Screen,

Oh yeah, I'll be seeing Drive on Fox too. And Nathan's next episode of LOST.

Exactly! :) I was trying to keep my story short, so I didn't explain his recovery in detail, but, yes, that was it. :)

I'm right there with ya on all fronts. ;) --Especially "Waitress"! Besides it sounding exactly like the type of movie I would love, if this turns out the be the "Little Miss Sunshine" of '07 Sundance, that would be amazing publicity for Nathan- which would, very likely, lead to more quality movie role offers. :)

I had rented the movie, but I didn't look at any of the extras because of how painful the actual movie was. I might rent it again if there's alot of Fillion on it, but still, I'd like to see him do at least a decent movie.
