Good Morning!

(We're happy to see you, too Rose!!)

I'll be off and on all day. Preparing stuff for end of month reports. Meh.

*pouty because I have to do work*

Oh, well. I definitely need coffee and someone has absconded with my coffee pots.

Who would want my coffee pots? And what nefarious thing are they doing to them?

If I can't find them I may need to walk across the street (horror!) and buy a cup from the Wendy's near me. (Gasp!)

Back soon.

Mav, not having coffee is bad, but I personally would not be willing to trust fast food coffee either...It might be made of like, coffee beans processed up with deep fried lizards. Heh, can you tell I don't like the fast food industry?

Hi PR! What're you all frustrated about??

I kinda wanna know what the dream magda had about HK was...Hehe, you know you're obsessed when you have dreams about the users on a fansite for a show you're obsessed with.

Lol, I love the levels of tiredness graph Jonny!

Not sure what kind of calendars they feed you around the beltway (and considering what they usually try to feed us, you might want to consider a new source), but I believe the rest of us are now in a new month already. I'm pretty sure your reports are late already, so relax. Maybe we can get MsG on the Case of the Missing Coffee Pots.

Luckily for me and my addiction, my coffee pot problem has been solved. Turns out, the coffee service showed up last night to switch out the old pots, and left my new ones in the upstairs kitchen. Crisis averted.

To answer the above, in the business I am in, you can't close the month until ALL business is inputted into the system - so Jan 31 work from the sales floor goes in on Feb 1. Once that is done ( and it is ) the month can close.

Of course, I'm not too happy about that pecan limb that's already touching the power line into the house. Luckily my bath tub is full of water already, my washing machines full and I have a couple of buckets too. For those of you that are all citified, no power means no well pump. Actually, not so much - I don't deal with customers, so I have few distractions other than the internet.

We actually have only a few orders each day - but one order can be over $15K. Same amount of work whether it be a $28 leather care kit or a multi thousand dollar sectional. So, between myself and the Accounting person (owner's wife) we got everything in and reconciled by 10 AM so closing process could begin.

And the prospect of not having coffee this AM and my relief at having the coffee pots found have made me SERIOUSLY contemplate my caffeine addiction. I need an intervention. By Juan Valdez.

ZEEK

I vote for anything with imponderable in the name.

Years ago I frequently visited another message board and started a thread just for open ended discussions (since the mods got mad about going off topic in other threads). The thread was an outstanding success and still carries on to this day I believe. Considering this was back in may of 2000 I think that's not a bad little run.

Problem is as it kept being remade over and over people decided to make funny changes to the title. After a while the word "dicussion" was hardly ever included. The thread soon lost any discussion as well as new people had no idea what it was about. They just say people saying hi to each other and joined in. These days it's mostly "hi" and silly roleplaying mixed with a very tiny bit of discussion of what people ate for breakfast that morning or other things that don't lead to much discussion.

I'm not saying it will happen to this thread, but at least I have supplied precedence.

Who buys furniture for multi-thousand dollars? People with more money than sense, imo. In the DC area, you literally can't swing the proverbial dead cat without hitting one of 'em.

This store sells extremely upscale Italian leather and marble furniture, and other pieces. We've got a marble dining table on the floor that comes with 6 chairs that currently retails for $18K - and we sell about 1 set a month. And the buffet is sold separately!

Oh, the things I could do with $18,000!!! And it wouldn't be buying a dining room set!

EDIT: Columbian Intervention. {snort}!!!Hope that's not like a Columbian Neck Tie!

Hi to LA29, Zeek, MsG, and Dug!

Dug, I really wish that we would get some snow here....I miss it.

Yeah, I can't imagine paying that much for anything! I don't even like spending more than $20 for a pair of jeans! Furniture has never really been too important to me either...maybe these people just ran out of things to buy and decided to go with mad expensive chairs.

Zeek, I do agree that we should at least keep the name as a semblance of the old one, otherwise people who might to have been around for a while wouldn't know where to find us, or even think that the imponderables have all died or something!

Msg, Let's seee...this weekend I'm planning to loaf, loaf and possibly sleep.
I hope that you don't plan to have anymore children/relations over again!

**It's hard living in this area where the cost of living is so high. I make a good deal of money that would make life extremely comfortable if I lived elsewhere. Here, a $100,000 house sells for $400,000. Gas is still $2.25. I like my job, I like this area, but it is expensive.

Ok now you must rush out and buy those altoids PR we don't want you to explode... the gift card spending does sound nice though as does the haircut. I love the salon pampering stuff:)

Nope Asorta no kids this weekend. Just me, a few drinks, and some lovely resting.

Mav- Hey could be worse, could be New York , California etc...though I know what you mean. We just had our house appraise at double what we paid 6 years ago and we realized that right now, we couldn't afford to buy our house. I blame California. All these people from California keep moving to our state all excited because with the money they got for their 4 room hovel in Cali( which is about $700,000) they can get a really nice house with 5 or 6 bedrooms here. So they come and drive the price up. I am sulking 'cause I want this house in my mom's neighborhood and it went up to 550,000 so now we can't afford it. Last year when they were thinking of selling they were only asking $350,000 and we could have gotten it, but now it's out of our range...SULK!!! It had a guest house and everything. I always wanted a guest house ( especially after last weekend)so I could have guest without having them in my actual house.
Ok this is a way longer post than I meant it to be

FLYVOTE

Momentary thread hijack. (What do you expect from an independent?)

We need to reach more browncoats to vote for Firefly.

Honestly, if we could get Nathan or Jewel to mention the effort on their blogs that would open up a large number of potential voters. Get Nathan to endorse FlyVote to his 12000+ myspace friends. If 5% of his friends were to run FlyVote (600 people) and vote 8 times a day, the bump would be 4800 _daily_ votes.

The potential is too large to ignore. I'm not a "myspacer", but more than a few people here must be his "friend". If our captain and our mechanic were to mention it in a publicly viewable log, the positive impact would be great.

How about Whedonesque? Can FlyVote be mentioned there? "Look! Someone wrote a program specifically for voting for a Whedon show!".

We need to step up the campaign more now than ever. Even mentioning using FlyVote in other threads on this board might make people who couldn't be bothered to manually remember to vote before use the FlyVote tool to help.

Spread the word. I know that there are people here that are on other boards. Be invasive. Push. Bring attention to the independents.

I'm a browncoat. I want to do the impossible. I want to be mighty.

"Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?"

For PR:

The Imponderable Water Cooler. Okay stay with me on this one.

On one side we have the Imponderable. (Such as x/0, ∞ - ∞, 0, 1∞, (-1)∞, 0 * ±, ±) These are thoughts we entertain amongst ourselves which may have no clearcut answer.

On the other we have the Water Cooler. (A gathering place to carry on social networking)
http://aura.zaadz.com/photos/1/7288/large/snetworking.bmp
These are current events in our own lives that we want to chat about with the rest around a watering hole.

So there is thought and there is water. There are thought baloons and water baloons. One is cartoonish, the other messy and potentially dangerous. But thought baloons are also known as thought bubbles which is a whimsical term but not to the degree of slapstick. And of course there are water bubbles, which in Wisconsin we are told come from bubblers, which to the rest of us are water fountains, and what is a water cooler if not a water fountain of sorts. And then there is the idea of founts of knowledge and founts of ideas and founts of information and founts of wisdom...And word has it bubbles are FUN!

You get the idea. Anyway, tying together any given thread was a song title, so the Bubbler of Imponderables was a kind of jukebox of questions; some got replayed a lot. Here's sort of what I pictured in my head for the Imponderable Water Cooler/Thought Bubbler/Percolator:

And of course, the best juke boxes have bubbles in them. Thoughts anyone? Bubbles?

Jonny- oooh bubbles. I love bubbles... Ok so we're now the Bubbling Water Cooler of Male/Female Imponderables with a Song to Sing?? LOL HUGS

YINYANG

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Mavs - When you start on about furniture, you sound just like my mom (who also works in furniture, doing almost exactly the same stuff my mom does). It's creepy, but in a nice way. Have a nice birthday weekend!

No! PR said the evil s-word! And, word has it, there's supposed to be more this weekend.

Hey, watery Imponderables!

So, that's a yes, then? Imponderable Water Cooler? Shiny?
I'm happy.

And what's the baby for? It's cute and all... I guess that's what it's for.

Well, actually, the little girl is submerged in water (from the water cooler), her head (thinking--innocently--about imponderables) surrounded by thought bubbles. Or not.
