Bring FIREFLY series back to network television as rerun?

Couldn't FOX bring Firefly back to network televition as a re-run? They could run the episodes in the correct order (this time) and give the series a proper debut to new viewers?
Commercial time will benefit because of the solid fan base it already has.

I am watching it on HD TV on the UHD (universal HD) channel on Cablevision in Connecticut. They are showing it in order as well. The only problem is that after two and a half months they will be out of content. This is the fundamental problem with the series - lack of episodes in the can. We got 14 jewels, not one of which is a dud but you cant even show a years worth (by showing each twice). I have to say that seeing it in HD is awesome and even better than DVD so I am basically seeing Firefly at the highest possible resolution you can get unless you go out and get the HD DVD (and have a HD dvd player and TV). I have the TV but which HD format is going to walk away the winner is anyones guess.

I guess I am wondering why FOX doesn't rerun the episodes (all 14 this time) as they where intended to air, and see how they will fair this time, with no interuptions.....

Well , they could , if they were that smart...But alas , they are not...

If it would re-light Firefly , I'd be for it !

But Joss has said that he is averse to working with the F-network again...They killed his favorite child in its crib !

The only way it could work is if the F-network would do it as a penance , or a way of making amends !

First , the F-network promotes it in a PROPER way this time...Then , they air a disclaimer (apology) before each episode... " We're the F-network , and 5 years ago , we F-ed up , massively !

We apologize for our lack of vision , and we wish to apologize to the creator of this 'Verse , and the Legions of Browncoat loyalists...This many years hence , we wish to make amends , and at the end of this encore season of Firefly , we at the F-network intend to auction the rights to make subsequent seasons of Firefly , to the highest bidder...We at the F-network will donate the proceeds of the auction to children's charities , and promise to never make such an egregious mistake again , such as we made when we cancelled the greatest TV show EVER..."

Yep , like that's gonna happen...
