Well not my funniest moment. I just saw it and started laughing. In The Message, when Simon puts the pulse monitor on Tracey. As soon as Tracey sees Kaylee you hear his heartbeat going ALOT faster. (Who could blame him)

The torture scene in "War Stories", hands down.

Mal: Oh, you want me to sleep with her? Would that make you feel better?

Wash: It might.

Mal: Oh, I'd imagine it would do wonders for her, too.

Wash: Screw you!

Mal: Get in line!

That is one of my favorite funny moments. Most of the others involve Jayne; it just seems that Adam got some of the funniest lines.

MAL - Whatever happens, remember I love you.

ZOE - Sir?

MAL - Because you're my wife.

I don't think I have a favorite, but this one that I've always liked from Ariel:

River: ...going to die.

Simon: No one is going to die.

River:(pointing to a patient) He is.

And then in Trash there's Mal and Inara's conversation:

Inara: What was the cargo?

Mal: They were dolls...

Inara: They were little geisha dolls with big heads that wobbled!

Mal: Hey, people LOVE those!!

God...there are SO many..
one of my faves is from the movie..when River (upon returning to the ship with the others after the encounter with the Reavers) turns to Simon and says with a wide-eyed childlike innonence;

"I swallowed a bug!"

...that gets me everytime.

In 'The Message', the scene with Wash talking to the cow foetus.

"Ours is a peaceful race."

Cracks me up everytime, plus the lead-up with Simon being a boob is awesome too. And oh, oh! "My food is problematic".

Actually, just pick pretty much any scene in the entire series and movie.

Mal gives control of the ship to Zoe...
Mal: If I'm not back in an hour, you come, and you rescue me.
Zoe: What? And risk my ship?

SHAMELESS

Yay! Some of mine:

Our Mrs. Reynolds:

Mal: You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people. I mean, you know... people that are... (beat) That's a dumb planet!

That look and pause from Mal right after Saffron says, "If you're done with supper... would you like me to wash your feet?"

Wash: We'd always hoped you two kids would get together. (to Mal) Who is she?

The whole thing between Mal and Jayne about Vera.

HUSBAND (JAYNE)
Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that
last part. See, I married me a powerful
ugly creature.

(WIFE) MAL
How can you say that? How can you shame
me in front of new people?

(HUSBAND) JAYNE
If I could make you purtier, I would.

(WIFE) MAL
You are not the man I met a year ago.

Jaynestown:
Everything (and this stuff especially)

That drunken laugh from Wash RIGHT after Mal says, "We talked a few pillars of the Mudder community into having a little Jayne Day celebration in town square tomorrow."

Too much hair!

Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep following me.

Simon: (to Jayne) Enemies? You? No, how can it be?!

The looks on everyone's faces when the mudders start singing The Hero of Canton. Priceless.

Serenity (pilot):

Mal: Ain't no way in the 'verse they could find that compartment, even-- (stops talking as Dobson walks past) Even if they were lookin' for it.

Zoe: Why not?

Mal: ....'Cause...?

Mal: Did you send word to Patience?

Wash: Ain't heard back yet. Didn't she shoot you one time?

Mal: Everyone's makin' a fuss.

Got way more, but I'm getting kicked off the computer... and I should probably stop before I turn this into a book.

Landmines - $50 per
Attack/track dogs bred 1st class - $250-500 per

SUPERFLUOUS

My favorite moment would have to be the deleted scene in "Our Mrs. Reynolds" (I'm clueless as to why they cut it out).
In a nutshell, what happens is River tries to get Book to marry Simon (because she's in the family way). Simon (in the meanwhile), is having a stress-attack trying to let River down clumsily the reason that they can’t be wed. It’s funnier seeing it than me writing about it, but it’s hilarious nonetheless.

the scene from Train Job when Book is talking to Mal about Simon and River, right after river knocks over the tray in the med-bay

Book: That boy is very brave.

Mal: Yeah, he's my hero.

it makes me laugh every time, no so much the line as the way it's delivered, the tone of Mal's voice is priceless.

JONGSSTRAW

Some of Mal's sarcasm about Inara's career....
That emergency wouldn't be taking place in someone's pants now would it?
You're using feminine wiles on me, and so many others.

Also, I gotta say, for me at least the torture scenes in War Stories are very difficult to watch, and although I can appreciate what they did & said to each other to remain alive and conscious & bear the agonzing pain...none of that was funny to me...it's kind of horrifying actually, and then when Zoe walks bravely into that demented and vile scene it only gets more un-funny.

RORANIA

Kaylee: "Well, let's see. We killed Simon and
River, stole a bunch of medicine, and
now the captain and Zoe are off
springing the others got snatched by
the Feds. --- And here they are now!"

That and her tone was so unexpected, twas hilarious;D

I liked Ariel simply because of the out-take type of scene in the middle.

"the patients were cyanotic and, uh... non-
responsive. We tried, but we
couldn't revive them -- resuscitate
them -- despite our best efforts... --They kicked."

Dilapidated ;)

Now I am learning about scary.

For me, it will always be the scene with Wash and his dinosaurs. There are a lot of funny scenes in the show and movie, but that one always makes me laugh so hard I can't breathe.

The scene with Jayne and Mal at the beginning of Our Mrs Reynolds is great and most of Wash's dialogue is fabulous.

'We're in trouble, who's flying this thing?! Oh, that would be me'

I'm also thinking of River in War Stories, 'My food is giving me problems'.

This one is easy:

There are lots of hi-larious moments but my fave is in Objects In Space when River tells Mal not to make faces. His look is just perfect!!

Also:
Jayne's killing in a fair fight speech.
Jayne ripping of the taped gun.
The torture scene is just brilliant.

And many many more.

Superflous, ( hey, did I spell that right?)
You're right about that deleted scene. I love it. There's a comment somewhere: Everybody in the cast and company loved that scene. But the episode was too long. It had to be cut for timing reasons. It was the only scene that didn't bear directly on the plot. It was also the only scene that Summmer got in the entire episode: she's in the background in a few shots, but doesn't have a single line.

Totally agree with that, Canter!

My 17yr son just reminded me of another very funny one...in the Jaynestown episode when Simon, Jayne; etc are drinking at the table in the bar/pub and, after hearing the guy with guitar start singing the song about Jayne, Simon says: "No..THIS must be what going mad feels like..."

BRILLIANT! hehehe...!

God grant me the Serenity.....Pt 2 and Pt 3 and.....
