Australian PayTV channel Fox8 is running Firefly on Saturday nights at 9:30 for any fellow Aussies (like me) who may not have been aware. I discovered this by accident last night, and it wasn't what they have listed in the current program guide (they have some other thing called Fastlane listed) so unless you are surfing the channels you wouldn't have known it was on!

(am getting a feeling of Deja vu here..!)The episode they ran last night was Ariel. So I'm assuming it's been on for several weeks...

nope, it's been on "free to air" before - which is how i first saw it - i was up late - it was probably on some time around 11pm-1pm - and i saw this program while i was workin about this guy dressed as a woman in a western setting and then next thing i know there's a space ship and i thought.... what that??? and didn't pay any further attention cause i was working - only wish i had cause i'd have been introduced to the verse a lot sooner! that would have been probably more than a yr ago now.... but stupid timeslot and I don't think they played all the eps 'cause I didn't come across it again....

also, i saw it scheduled on Pay TV some time ago (don't have pay tv so can't say if it was actually on) and when the sci-fi channel was first introduced i think i saw it on the schedule there too... but can't confirm

Yes I saw it on the new Sci Fi channel when it first started a few months back, but they just stopped running it after only a few weeks...pathetic!

They have been playing the eps for a while now, often they just show them at really bizarre times, so unless you've got your eyes peeled you don't notice it. Maybe you could all write to Foxtel to thank them for showing the Firefly eps like I did, and second my suggestion that they make it into a marathon, possibly on SciFi, where they show Serenity to top it off. That would really drum up attention, and help the cause!
