CAPTAINCOUPI

Well hi there.

I've been hanging around the board for a week or so now, listening to you all and posting the odd comment, so I thought it was time for a formal introduction.

I found Serenity, the movie that is, not long ago when they started showing it at the end of last year on the movie channels we get over here on the Old Homestead, (Badger's clearly of Brit' decent so I guess the UK is the 'Old Homestead' for me), and instantly loved it. I watched it the next time it was on, and then the next time, and you know what, not once did I think 'I've seen this I'll go watch something else'. A movie I couldn't get bored of? That's something special. So I got on the net and saw what I could find, and I found Firefly.

I went straight to Amazon.co.uk and ordered it and when the postman delivered it a few days later I watched the whole series from beginning to end. And that was it, I was smitten, obsessed, looking for more. I know you can all see what’s coming. It sometimes happens that something is taken away from you and you don’t know that you’ve lost it. When that happens and you find out, the sense of loss is that much greater; and so it is for me and Firefly.

I have to get over that feeling and find someway to deal with that, some way to have some hope that things that I have come to cherish, (even in such a short time), are not lost causes. And that’s where you lot come in.

What all that self absorbed drivel and navel gazing above comes down to is this. As I sit here with a little pile of strawberries some fresh bao and a cup of mudder’s, I want to raise a cup to you the Browncoats and say ‘Thank you!’ and hope you’ll indulge me when I post and not look to harshly on me when I might make the odd faux pas. Cheers.

P.S. - Thanks FloralBunny for the Strawberries and Mudder’s milk when I first posted.

P.P.S. – After seeing you all with all those weapons on the Browncoat Portrait Gallery: part III thread, I’m gonna be really careful what I say.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

It's great to have you here, Coupi! Love your banner!
Oh, and don't worry, we only use the weapons on trolls

Welcome to the 'verse, CC, you'll fit right in. And you already got a banner for your sig and all! FollowMal is making herself quite scarce these days, but I'm sure you'll get your virtual browncoat soon. You're one of us already, anyways.
Bummer you saw the BDM first, but I guess it didn't hurt your enthusiasm.
And speaking of faux pas, I always thought Badger was Irish. I loved Summer doing the accent, btw, very... yummy.

Edit: There's a Browncoat Portrait Gallery? Lol, uhm, where? I've been here for almost a year (although it feels much longer) and I sort of didn't know about that.

Thanks for the links, PR... I guess I'm gonna have to try and find the recharger thingy for my digicam and join the mug-shooting.

I appreciate the welcome. Feelin' at home already.

Badger, Irish?!? He's a Londoner if I ever heard one. The Bowler hat gives it away, we all wear them in the UK........

Welcome home, CaptainCoupi. I see you're already been welcomed and well wished. Strawberries already piled high.

Seems as if the only thing lacking is your browncoat.. which I usually hand out, but Agatsu is right, I've been scarce lately. Sorry about that.

Welcome aboard from another browncoat from the Old Homestead,

We've set aside a bunk for you.

One thing you can do to show your love for the show is to look up the voting threads and make your mark. Vote for the show and cast at the various polls strewn through the web and light up a flame for Firefly!
