I am making what is mentioned int he title so anyone with modification experience or experience in the following please email me at

I am needin some goramn:

-3d Modelers (3ds Max/Maya/Lightwave)
-2d Artists/Designers (Photoshop and drawing)
-Programmers (...ermm...)
-Graphic Artists (I.e: creating orthographic views for the modelers)

-Beta Testers

Well first it might help if you explain what the mod will be & what game it will be for(Half-Life 2,Unreal Tournament 2004,Microsoft Flight Simulator X, ect)& you probably won't get another reply for another 8 hours+ since most members are American so they are all asleep right now.

I've noticed that people don't really respond to these things. I don't think that it's to offend or anything. It's just that these things come up rather often and nothing really comes of them.

What I'd recommend is to plan it out some, do some initial development and then post again. And when you post, post details i.e. "FIREFLY Game Modification" is hardly descriptive.

Also, I don't know if you've done a search, but is there anyone out there that has already started what you're planning on doing? It'd be a shame to duplicate work. Here's a couple projects already in the works:

True, well i left it open purely because i didnt want any goramn theifes nicking my idea...

..ahh wth! I want to do a mod for Supreme Commander based around the 'Unification War'; the war between advancing Alliance 'purple bellies' and Independance 'Browncoats'

I am currently trying to build up my VFX/CGI skills and thought that this would be a good project as the models and skinning will be relatively very easy in comparison to the work that Zoic Studios did on Firefly. From there i plan to move to Maya from 3DS Max and upgrade my skills with the eventual goal of working for them *fingers crossed :S*

..breathe...

So anyone able to help please let me know. i understand that these things come and go faster than rumours of Firefly Season 2 and so i want to reasure that i am very dedicated and wish to see this through for selfish and not-so-selfish reasons...

I have mod development expierence with the Doom 3 engine. The software I use is Maya 6.5, ZBrush and Photoshop.

I would prefer to work with the Doom 3 Engine as I like to work with it, and I like it's capabilities.

Goodluck with your mod though. And as much as I would like to say that I'd love to download it, I can't, because I hate Supreme Commander and I won't be dishing out 50 bucks for it.

Command & Conquer is the only RTS I ever liked :P.

I wouldn't necessarily change the game you want to mod based on one person's opinion. You seem to like SupCom and if there are enough people that have the game are are interested (an have the talent) to make a mod, then go for it.

But, there's the rub; enough people.

I've heard *lots* of people talk about modding kotor (yes I know it isn't the type that you want). But, that doesn't mean that there are lots of people willing and able to do any development on such a mod. Nor does it mean that they'd even play it if available.

In the end, it's your project and the decision is up to you. No matter what game you choose, it's going to be a fairly large gamble. Will there be developers? Will people people play it?

Again, the problem with announcing things like this is that this has been heard time and time again, with no game in sight. Basically, no matter how much you say that you are dedicated to the project, even if you are as dedicated as you say, people probably won't pay attention to you. Not until you produce /something/. It isn't to be rude, it's just experience.

Again, do some initial development. I imagine that there'll be a campaign mode, so what's the story along with it? etc. Do some sketches, skins, etc. Once you got those done, *then* you'll have /shown/ that you are dedicated and people will probably start paying attention.

But hey, I could be wrong. This is just my opinion based on what I've seen here. There are many other FF/S forums out there. You might have better luck posting on one of those.
