Old thread still double-parked at http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=27339#460844

We were talking about scents, and also their relation to what beauty products you use. There was also some talk of drunken revelries, if that sort of thing is your bag.

Or we could talk about squirrels.

So disappointed at not being first, this newscaster is throwing up cats.

EDIT: And I use Clean perfume, which smells like a cross of citrusy just got out of the shower fragrance. Husband loves it as it is not to flowery or cloying.

New car update - I discovered that the Element is one of only handful of cars produced right now that comes with an aux jack so you can plug an ipod into it and play music over the car speakers.

Son & I rocked out this morning to Presidents of the United States : "Peaches" on the short trip to school. (I craved peaches during my pregnancy, and have been singing this song to him since he was a baby. He knows every word.)

I haven't listened to that song in a good long while, and now I really want to. Excellent song for driving to school (or almost any other time of day).

Squirrels? I got plenty in the back yard. Lunch is free...for them, but I gotta buy the birdseed they steal.

Edit to add: I once put some coffee beans mixed with peanuts out for them, and a near approximation of drunken revelry ensued.

And come to think of it, my neighbor hangs bars of Irish Spring in his garden to keep the deer away, so the squirrels sometimes pick up that clean leprechaun aroma.

Well for me scent is a mood thing...I have a variety of stuff for each mood...like today I feel all relaxed and joyous so I used my vanilla bean body wash and lotion and am wearing my new perfume with tahitian vanilla and hints of coconut and tropical flowers...makes me think of the islands and vacations.
I have lemon for a pick me up and also peppermint for that too.
For needing to feel calm I have lavender and also a full set of coconut
During winter I have a set that smells exactly like pecan pie 'cause it makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
During the summer I have a fabulous coconut lime verbena and strawberry 'cause those make me feel summery and happy.
Ok well this is a long diatribe

However felt compelled to tell you all about demeter.com IF you like fresh cut grass they make it in a cologne spray and perfume. They also have my personal fav honey and also dozens of others. They are the company that provides the dingle note fragrances to the perfume companies so they can mix and make those complex scents...but they do sell to the public the single note stuff.

Funny thing to tell y'all. Firstly, good morning. So I was catchin' up with my oldest good buddy in Iowa (it does exist, I've been there), on a few things. Told him of the wierd happenings and crossed paths with "She". Get to talkin' more and mention he should check out the pics of Sara Jane on Myspace. Upon checking his messages he asks "Who the hell is Ne?" My simple reply, "Guess."
He sends a quick message back: "So how the heck are you doing? Its good to hear from folks back in Fallon. Hope everything is good for you. Message me back and we'll catch up.
P.S. Just got off the phone with Joe. He says Hi."

He's the audacious friend I had in school. They went out for a week in Jr High and we seemed to link a few things together seein' as its near to impossible to find anyone using the Myspace search engine. She had to of found one of us through the other.
Still creeped out a little. AGAIN!

Everyone really has some kick ass tunes runnin' in my head now. Can't shake Maybelline.
Chuck Berry must be the Devil.

wow, I'm not on for half a day and things go by so fast.

In regards to scent, I rarely wear perfume but I like musk. my body wash doesn't have a particular scent.

Also, can't drive so have no driving song although when Top Gear did their best driving song poll I voted for Highway Star by Deep Purple.

And I saw something about squirrels. My friend had a 'pet' squirrel called Ronnie that lived in his garden in his first year of uni. He used to try to get it into the house with nuts.

The squirrels at Georgia Tech were bold, and would come up to you with no problem. There were also some as big as some of the stray cats that were around the dorms.

I always wanted a squirrel for a pet. My grandmother had a huge oak tree outside her bedroom. I used to drag her chaise lounge to the window and sit for hours to watch the squirrels. I would devise elaborate traps for the squirrels ( due to the fact that I was 3 the traps were largely unsuccessful) and I can still hear her voice as she'd pass through saying " Don't you touch those squirrels"
My nanny Lise was supposed to keep me from getting at them, but once she went out of the room and I pushed the screen through and tried to climb out. Luckily my dog Snopes( St. Bernard/Collie mix) grabbed me by the seat and held on until she came back.

Squirrels are interesting. We call them Billy (or Billie, for the girls), and figure that they run out in the road so much because they've made bets with each other or something.

Well might as well chime in on the other topic.

I rarely wear cologne. Before I go out I usually shower and shave and my aftershave would probably seriously mix with any cologne and transform into some horrible funk. On the rare occasions that I don't have time I will, and I use Curve. Not sure how long it is good to use for, but I have had a bottle of it for about 5 years and have only used about 1/3 of it.

I usually use Kilo body wash from Axe. No throng of beautiful girls tackling me in public as of yet though. I am beginning to think it is a cheap marketing ploy.

Aftershave I usually just use Gillette gel aftershave or Skin Bracer. Sometimes I miss the alcohol burn. And on special occasions I have a bottle of British Sterling. I have to be careful with that though, it goes from smelling good to crappy very quickly if I use too much.

British Sterling ( in proper quantities) smells incredible and I am truly surprised girls don't tackle you when you wear it...as for Axe, one day I shall hunt down the manufacturers and trap them in a room full of junior high boys all of whom have seen their adverts and have used approximately 1/2 bottle per day ( sadly in most cases they have used it in place of showering or deoderant)Not all the kids are using the same scent either so it's this noxious blend of dozens of different kinds of axe all used to excess in one small room where the windows are all sealed shut( as is the case with all junior highs to prevent break in) I am sure they would hastily change their marketing!

Scent: I prefer a minimalist approach, with just a bit of Old Spice deoderant. I never use cologne, and I have no intention of starting. Axe irritates me every time I see it's commercial, because I can envision some mentally-stunted adolescant actually believing it.

Music:

"Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?"

WTF? What's all the double postie stuff? Musta missed something...

Cents and Scentability, huh? Well, much as MsQ would love me to--and I have the slightly used bottles to prove it--I'm not much of a cologne guy. I used whatever Irish Spring strikes my fancy at the store at the moment and Old Spice do/ap. Old Spice the aftershave always reminds me of funerals, churches and salemen because, growing up, the mortician in town and everyone else who was not an Aqua Velvet man, wore it in GREAT abundance--the Axe of its generation. But they had that cool Sailor guy in the commercials...

I ran out of SoftSoap and wifey gave me a Bath & Body Works substitute: Brown Sugar and Fig. It's hypnotic. I want to drink it. I want to pour it over my cereal and pancakes. I want it inside my poptarts.

Then there is a scent, which I haven't been able to find yet to give to MsQ, that a coworker of mine wears. It's called Code by Armani. Let's put it this way. Were I unwed, I would take her in a manly fashion. Right there. Where she stands. Have found myself plotting ways to corner her. Have expressed my, er, frustrated enjoyment to her. And she's eating it up. (We're pretty good friends, so it's all "ha ha") Luckily she's at the other end of the office and there has to be a real reason for us to cross paths, so my alert status is rarely above yellow. Anyway, the upshot is that it's the scent, not her. If y'all are staying away from coconut at D*C for NVG's benefit, ya better stay away from Code for yours...

Traveling music: I'm tend toward 70's rock. (Speaking of travel, where the hell is Traveler?? Haven't seen him in ages!!)

"Well, here I am...Does that seem right to you?"
