America loves a winner!

( been hard to find my way here lately... )

I'm to understand that it's on LIFETIME network ?

Is there a concensus on whether or not folks are gonna at least check it out, for the curiosity factor ? Or are we shutting our eyes to it, out of general principle ?

It's on in about an hour here. Think I'll give it a look see.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

I'll be taping it, hope for it to be good. Kinda sounds like Forever Knight; so I'll have to give it a chance.

I could stand to hear a little more.

A Vampire detective...?
Does he have a soul?
Yeah, everyone has a soul.
I was doing it before it was all the 'cool' new thing....

Dunno about the 'soul' thing or not, but so far (mid way through ), it's not sucking yet. ( pun intended ).

Decent enough for a 2 hr premier. I guess the vamp guy ( missed everyone's names ) is sexy enough for the gals. I know the chick P.I. is sexy enough for the male types. She's a few yrs older ( looking ) than her vamp counterpart - who is 500 yrs old, but she's got one lean, nice lil' bod. Seems she hires a younger chick assistant at the end, so that should play well w/ the college types.

I like how they make the vamps move.... super quick, and the ability to stand on walls horizontally. A few ' now ya see 'em, now ya don't' shots were nicely done. Kinda wish we saw more of that in the Angel 'verse. Not sayin' I like this BETTER....I'm just sayin.....

The vamp is Henry Fitzroy (bastard son of Henry VIII) and the PI is Vicki Nelson who was formerly a police detective.

I don't have cable, but have read the books by Tanya Huff. (My firend, who also reads the books, is taping the eps for me.)

I want a firend. Where can I get one?

I completely missed the show. What night is it on? I will have to fight for Tivo supremacy. I have already lost the Saturday night slot. For some reason these people have to tivo Naruto!

I'm not sure, all I know is my FRIEND was lamenting that it was on opposite of The Dresden Files on SCIFI. I wanna say Sunday, but I'm probably wrong.

I have yet to see that or read the books, so I'll just stay mum.

I suppose I should be embarassed, but I didn't hate it. Will post more about it tomorrow, or you can check out my mini-post on the Buffyverse thread.

Well, Tanya Huff is a browncoat and Joss fan, so I guess it wasn't a stretch.

The Dresden Files? Derivative much? HARRY Dresden? Like as in china POTTERy Dresden?

Vampire detectives - P N Elrod's books, for one.

But best stuff - Kim Harrison. I've found little to beat the (mental) picture of a night-club full of vampires line-dancing to 'Living Dead Girl'.

As long as we're on the subject of books, has anyone read Nancy A. Collins? The Sonja Blue books were the first vampire-themed series I ever really got into. I'd also recommend Charlaine Harris, who does the Southern Vampire series.

About the best thing I can really say about it wa that I think I noticed actual chemistry between the leads, and that the acting isn't too horrible.

The effects and makeup on the other hand? Truly horrifing--ly horrible!!!

I said it once and I'll say it again, the fangs looked like they were purchased at a dollar store...in the clearance bin!
