considering heading to the smoking room to soak up the ... ambience, yeah that's it, ambience. Nah. Day wasn't that bad really.

Relaxing with a glass of vino ( a French red wine from 1999 my father gave us)after finishing a nice quick and easy meal.
If you ever have a head of red leaf lettuce which gets frozen, chop it up and dump it and some mushrooms into a cast iron skillet with some olive oil and a little fresh thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook it down a bit and lay slabs of good cheddar cheese on top then sprinkle it with breadcrumbs. Let the cheese soften up then pour beaten egg over it all and cover. Cook until cooked and fairly solid. Serve hot.

Not bad at all.

Stinking Rose- ok where were you last week when my lettuce froze??? HUG good recipe though. Got one for your crockpot ( slow cooker) 1 stick butter, 1 package( 8oz) cream cheese) 4 chicken breast, 1 package dry italian salad dressing mix. Put it all together in the slow cooker for 8 hours and you have a miracle!

Ok diet coke with ice and lime please Jimi:)

As for the grits...DAMN STRAIGHT no nasty syrup or sugar or what have you on perfectly good grits.
With butter, cheese, and meat of some kind ( partial to canned salmon here) they are amazing...also baked with cheese, a little bit of fresh chives, and some garlic they are to die for!

MSG sets up her ultimate southern buffet containing: baked cheese grits, ham, black eyed peas, tomato salad with vidalia onions, beaten biscuits, rice, and congealed salad. And a full dessert course involving coconut 4 layer cake, bread pudding, lemon ice box pie, pecan pie, chess pie, and of course 4 layer chocolate cake!

Oooh, lemon ice box pie. I actually have one of those in my fridge right now.

And if I may chime in, you forgot the pound cake. Preferably lemon, but chocolate will do as well. Oh, and cornbread too. And fried chicken. Can you tell I'm hungry?

I was looking on IMDB to find quotations for my tagline, and as I checked the Swingers page I noticed something. Toward the beginning of the movie, for those who have seen it (if you haven't, you should), there is a waitress they pick up in a casino, and later they meet her at another bar. She brings a friend, and the friend is dressed ad Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. The actress who plays the Dorithy friend is Katherine Kendall, who is none other than the Councillor from 'War Stories'. Well, I thought it was neat.

Now back to your regularly scheduled bar activities...
