Who do you find scarier...

Was just wondering who people find scarier: the reavers or the Hands Of Blue (in fact Blue Sun in general).
For me it definitely has to be the Blue Sun Corporation. The idea of one gigantic company that controls everything and can kill anyone who gets in theior way without fear of being reprimand by the government (because they make up a large part of that government) is at the same time scary and very very cool.

I may wear brown but theres a little purple mixed in there to.

Well, you could see it this way:

- Blue Sun probably runs most of the Core, including but not limited to politics.
- Since they have control they probably have a big say in which planets and moons are to be terraformed or otherwise made habitable for humans.
- They therefore might have inspired the PAX idea in the first place.

Which would boil down to Blue Sun, through the Alliance, being responsible for the Reavers. So it's not really a question about the one or the other since they're part of eachother.

But then, I could be talking nonesense here. *g*

So, just like the federal government here in the U.S. then. Yep. That's scarier than an pack of Reavers. At least Reavers are consistent and straight forward. Them I can deal with.

I'd definitely say Reavers. I don't think they're predictable at all- no one knew how they would react in 'Serenity' (the pilot), and it shocked everyone that they came after them to Whitefall. At least with Blue Sun, if you're really unimportant you've got a chance of being left alone. But the Reavers rape, canibalise and murder indiscriminantely. Plus the whole being raped to death, eaten and then having my flesh sewn into a Reavers clothes (in that order if I'm really lucky) is just truly horrific.

I'd have to go with Blue Sun. As I see it, they're nearly identical with the Allied government, so no matter what, you have to deal with them. There're no limits to what someone will do when they think they're above the law. Ref the Operative's comment on murdering children: "I do"--yeesh, makes the blood run cold. At least with the Reavers you've got a decent shot at being able to avoid them.

But also, I'm with Grizzy: pain is scary.

Blue Hands Group all the way. Those guys are relentless. With the Reavers at least you could get them to leave you alone if you escape. Both would be pretty painful if they caught you anyway. So, I go with the one that's harder to avoid.

Yeah I think the Blue Sun corp. Is way more scary. I guess it's just the idea that they kill people and alter their minds, and they're also the guys in charge. They're also able to convince people that it's not a bad thing, like with Simon and River's parents. I was so scared the first time I watched Ariel too....

99% of the time Reavers are going to kill you in the most horrible ways possible. The other 1% they make you into one of them, which might be worse.

Blue Sun may be evil, but you can possibly reach an accomodation with them, leaving you alive to plan a getaway.
