Just for kicks, I've been checking Firefly's sales rating on Amazon. Two days ago it was at 68. Yesterday, after the announcement about the movie, it jumped to 45. This morning it was 41, and as of this posting it is 35. Most excellent.

Dear diary, today I was pompous and my sister was crazy.

Thanks for the link Jasonzzz. I did not know Haken had set that up.

The movie news is definitely causing a new batch of DVD sales. Hopefully it is people that heard the news & have not yet seen the series. We can always use the ticket sales when the movie opens.

It's a normal distribution -- when a popular DVD first comes out, interest and purchases are very high, and then settle down into a lower, steadier rate, until/unless another event (like a movie, big ad campaign, etc.) pushes up interest again.
