Actually , it's " Not Mandatory " .

Apparently , there was a sorta real Japanese commercial that was inspiration for that clip...

Probably has something to do with that unusual Japanese sense of humor...

Seems I recall there is a little info about it on the Serenity DVD ' extras ' .

On the CPR question , well , that would depend on where the ' resuscitation ' is being applied...

Or possibly the way stuff is always translated into English from Japanese. It always comes back as utter nonsense!

If you want to keep people from mistaking your sig as part of your text, put a line of dashes or similar just above it.

For example:

WHODIED

I figured it to mean that 'bust(ing) out of your blouse' was not mandatory. Some folks need to be told these things, like instructions for a toothpick.

I read some fan speculation somewhere that said maybe it's a requirement for all televised advertisements in the Alliance, so people would understand it was just an ad, not a government commandment...

Shhh. We can't let them know we suspect. If they know we know then it's only a matter of time untill we know that they know that we know and before you know it we're stuck in an infinitely recursive loop of paranoia.

Okay ! I HATE when that infinitely-recursive paranoia thing happens...
