Farscape should pass LaFemme Nikita tomorrow.
They'll have a spell in 4th before Gunsmoke passes them (and LaFemme Nikita).

Dunno, maybe the Niki's will pull it together and rally. They must've done something right at some point to get this far.

Wow....that slideshow makes me wanna...

1,583 is impressive and so is hitting their goal 10 days early, but sorry, they won't be able to knock up 5,000 more votes on the 29th. The Xena reign of terror will be over soon and at least we gave up a good fight. Look at the last chart FT put up. It looks like the yellow and brown line are both going up at about the same slope to me.

May be the lower line, doesn't mean its the wrong one.

Congrats to Xena and yes I believe we will beat them to 500,000.

Just 6 months ago we were getting 700-800 votes daily and now we're hitting 1300 regular (Down to new Browncoats and the great Flyvote program).

So IF Xena do go back down to there 700-800 a day (like it was before they rallied) we'll be beating them almost 2-1. Let's not forget we are creating NEW Browncoats everyday so our votes will go higher and higher. Just keep voting Browncoats! It ain't over yet

So, I guess I missed the fact the Xena just went over 250K. Think their numbers will drop.

So who was it that lied about stopping?

Well according to the person we all call vote leader she said it was Rich's idea to put 250,000 as the hall of fame, so they decided they were going to stop when they are ready. Now the plan is to vote until Lucy's BD and they try for 2,000 votes on that day. I doubt they will just stop. I said I'd help them reach 250,000 and I did, so I'm finshed with this voting thing.

They are not trying for 5,000 votes, they are going for 2,000 votes on Lucy's BD. Sheesh, you know those are just fightings words, they read that and yes they will beat you to 500,000, and probably a million if you keep challenging them like that. Just ignore Xena, stop talking about them and maybe you will get to set a record that is just yours!

Stormcat: You're the only one making "fighting words" out of our words of encouragement. Should we just never say anything to rally our votes?

We recognize the efforts of our competitors, the two ahead of us and the many behind. We applaud the competition. But we are not going to be silent about our efforts.

I meant 500 more and please stop all this PC crap. I can and will say what I want about who I want. If you have a problem with competition then go to a six year olds soccer league match. I'm sure they hand out trophies to the fans as well.

They made it to the Hall of Fame first, good for them. Now it's Firefly's turn!
I hope Lexx will be joining it too some day not far from now!
However I see only 5 spots there and I don't think Lexx will be the 5th to enter the Hall. You, Bonanza and Gunsmoke are already ahead and getting more than us, BSG is on its way and after that there are no positions left :( Will they make another one for Lexx and the following? Is the goal to only have 5 best shows? Will Xena finally stop voting! Will Lexx get more votes?
So many questions, so few answers...

First, let me say

"Well done, Xenites! You have beaten us fair and square into the hall of fame."

Having said that, I never once fooled myself that they will stop at 250,000. I suspect that there will always be "one more goal". Be it 2000 in a day, or 5000 in a day. 300,000 by somebody's birthday. There's no sense in worrying about what someone said about them stopping. We should work on doing the best we can. They raised the bar to 1,500, so we must push on. If the Xena fans lose interest in the poll; fine. So be it, it will make it easier to catch up with them. If not, well, it's simple. We make like Hertz and try harder.

Oh, vote. Bump ;-)

Thanks Leadb, I'd like too see F/F get it's own record, but if Xenites stop voting there goes the challenge, but maybe the Bonanza folks will keep on trying to give us a challenge.

I'm not sure how uch voting I can do because I got a call from my sister last night that my Dad is dying so I have to fly down next week; that's the soonest I can get there, and I hope I can see him before he goes. He is in the San Francisco Veterans Hospital. I'll take my lap top of course, but not sure how much time I'll be online.

This voting is great!! (Makes me feel like im doing something for Firefly) ive actually been voting for a while now and have voted no matter where i am, may it be at home, college a friends house etc.

i even stayed up all night and voted every hour lol (sad but true)

one thing really gets me though....how is Bonanza beating us!! i havnt even heard of it and then i noticed it on tv and started watching it and its just in no way in the same league as Firefly!!! we keep catching up and then today for instance, Bonaza just gained like 5000 votes!!!! i dont get it, its horrifying!!

i will still continue to vote its just a bit disheartening.....this voting has become an addiction haha...

Bump from the Xenaverse

Back in the day, I was the stat keeper in the Xenaverse for the TV-vote....back when we were trying to reach 25k then 50k then 100k in votes or so. Due to other issues, I fell away from the stat keeping task, and later the voting task. At one time or another I've given votes to most of the shows in the top 40....those I enjoy anyway.

I own many of the top 40 shows on DVD....Angel, Alias, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica (2004), Buffy, Charmed, Cleopatra 2525, Farscape, Firefly, Roswell, and Xena....

I don't understand the Bonanza thing either, but you gotta give the fandom of a classic show credit....they have really muscled up on an internet vote where perhaps the majority of their fan base is not internet savvy...

I think we all harbor some secret love of a tv show....I may not understand the love for Bonanza some have, but I respect it. I also respect the love Firefly fans have for their show. It's because of you guys that Serenity was made, and it was a great addition to the Firefly experience.

Many folks overlook what appeals about certain shows. Some may look at Xena as just a campy romp through historical inaccuracies without realizing that beneath the surface, it's a tale of a woman with a dark and evil past who strives to redeem her deeds, knowing that she can never do so.

Others may look at Firefly as just a failed sci-fi show, without realizing the depth of writing and characters that Wheedon created. Firefly deserved a longer run.

My point is that all of the top 40 shows have redeeming qualities to their fan base. In my opinion, there are more than 40 shows that belong in the top 40...

I tend to enjoy sci-fi or drama shows with strong female leads that have seasonal and multi-seasonal story arcs...but I can understand someone liking shows without these qualities.

So, while I am glad Xena got to the TV-Vote Hall of Fame, I hope to see Firefly join us there soon and Bonanza after that....

Of course, all hail Gina Torres, who has appeared on Angel, Firefly, Alias, Xena, Cleopatra 2525, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and La Femme Nikita....truly she is the secret to being a top 40 show!

I wouldn't put either Xena or Bonanza on my top 5 shows to have with me if stranded on an island. But they would certainly make the list if the list was longer.

I've watched some Xena. If viewed superficially it does appear to be campy. I would say that it was made that way: Some "campy" and some depth.

I can understand the appeal of Xena and of Bonanza. I can understand that fans are, well, fanatic. I'm probably more inclined to flip the TV to Xena and watch an episode or two, just based on the post that you made. I'll look for the depth. There must be something to Xena if it has so many fans.

I would hope that Xenites would return the favor and consider Firefly. Really there must be something to Firefly...

LOL, sorry, I think I clicked on the wrong post, that was meant for derangedmilk or whomever his nick is>

I love both shows, Xena just brought to my life an amazing partner of almost 10 years, and lots of good life time friends, and someting to get my mind off of chemo when I was fighting cancer.

was a late comer into F/F, saymovie, loved it then boght the DVD's and have watched both over a dozen of time. I want both series to remain on top. It's all in fun, so I'm not really sure why deranged got upset at my posts, there were not meant to be a slam; it's all good. We shall see what happens. At the very least F/F will get into secnd place soon, whether other Xenites sto voting after Lucy's BD remains to be seen. I for one want to see F/F get it's very own record and not be second to anything. I really want it to pass Bonanza, and that is just a matter of time. I think we will be second to the 250,000 Hall of Fame! Bonanza is for the older folks, and this is the time if for Sci fi!!

Xena really meant a lot to us lesbians, and we were the ones that propelled it to it's cult status. It showed 2 women side by side without needing a man to help them, Xena is the ultimate Women Warrior, and it brought a lot of married lesbians out of the closet and with it came a lot of divorces; especially I hear from older women who grew up having to pretend to be who they were not. They were taught to marry a man and have kids. My partner being one of those women, married with a son, my great step so who thinks he has the coolest moms. He is 24 mow. He ex is remarried and has 2 new sons. So all good came out of our little world. We would all still be friends but her ex married a homophobic, but before he met her he used to go camping, and hiking with us. He knew he had no chance, but they only lived as friends for so many years before I cam along. There are a lot of stories like that, but not all were as lucky as we were. I could go on, but there you see the show is very important to a lot of us. F/f was just good entertainment, but wasn't anything life changing.

LOL, sorry, I think I clicked on the wrong post, that was meant for derangedmilk or whomever his nick is>

Well that makes more sense. Xena is quite fine entertainment don't get me wrong. I just think Firefly is better. It has prety much everything I look for in serial drama: deep characters, snarky dialogue, big ideas, the occasional heist, and spaceships.

In 40 or so days, Firefly will join Xena in the Hall of Fame - sooner if we can pick up some new voters.

A couple of observations about our nearest competitors:

250K for the Xenites. With the effort & perseverance needed to get that many votes, they surely deserve to be there - congratulations to all their voters and fans.

I finally admit it, Bonanza will beat us to 200K. Not by our lack of trying but by their remarkable tenacity - I am impressed.

Lets push for 1500+ votes on the 27th March

I'm not sure how uch voting I can do because I got a call from my sister last night that my Dad is dying so I have to fly down next week; that's the soonest I can get there, and I hope I can see him before he goes. He is in the San Francisco Veterans Hospital. I'll take my lap top of course, but not sure how much time I'll be online.

My condolences, I hope your trip gets you respite and peace.

Lots of publicity for the site because of Xena hitting 250K perhaps?

It's sad that they got there first, but remember - we're in this for the long haul. It will be interesting if the Xena guys have got the longevity to stick it out now that they've reached the 1/4 million.

Oh, and get voting over on The Week in Whedon poll - it would be good to get back beyond Buffy before they record their next show, in case they mention it

Maybe we need to do some extra recruiting. Everyone who is voting now should try to get at least one new person to vote at least 5 a day. Other Browncoats even.I've always had the feeling that there's just a few who are voting regularly. We have numbers, just not enough commitments. I refuse to believe that we can't put up numbers like the Xenites do. We can do this.

I have been voting for Firefly in the poll on the Week in Whedon for a while now. I want to thank Flyvote for putting it in his program. Firefly gets about 7 or so votes there a day. We were way ahead for a long time now Buffy is over 200 votes in the lead.
