Celebrate Nathan's Birthday, Donate, and Win!

Hello to all friends of The Captain! Nathan Fillion's birthday is here and Good Works would like to invite as many of his fans as possible to be involved in wishing him a happy birthday through their Keep the Fringe Flyin' donation drive.

Through this fund raising effort, more than two-thousand dollars has already been raised in Nathan's honor to benefit Fringe Theatre Adventures (FTA). While attending the University of Alberta, Nathan spent much of his time developing his improvisational skills at the Chinook Theatre, as FTA was known at the time, and at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival. This highly praised theater company gives much to the community of Edmonton, and depends heavily on private donations. Good Works felt that the best birthday present fans could present to Nathan would be one that honors him, his training grounds, and his hometown.

Now, one week away from Nathan's birthday on March 27th, Good Works is excited to announce the Keep the Fringe Flyin' Wrap-up Raffle! With every ten dollars donated online between March 20, 2007 and March 27, 2007 you can enter to win one of these shiny prizes:

* MakeUSmileTees gift card - good for two officially licensed t-shirts, and domestic shipping
* Can't Stop the Serenity limited edition teaser poster
* Can't Stop the Serenity limited edition t-shirt
* Serenity Region 4 PAL DVD with Collector's Tin (Australian Release)
* Serenity Region 1 DVD (United States Release)
* Firefly: The Complete Series Region 1 DVD set (United States Release)
* Serenity Region 1 Special Edition 2-Disc DVD set (to be shipped after its release in July)
* First-printing Serenity #1 comic (Mal cover), signed by cover artist John Cassaday

For details on how to enter the raffle, visit www.goodworkspresents.org/raffle2.html

To donate, visit www.goodworkspresents.org/donate.html. (All donations are made directly to FTA.)

Donations must be made by March 27th to be counted as part of this fund drive and to qualify for the wrap-up raffle.

Let's celebrate Nathan's birthday by showing Edmonton, Fringe Theatre Adventures, and the Captain himself our appreciation!

For more information, banners, or to join Good Works, visit www.goodworkspresents.org, or the Good Works MySpace profile at www.myspace.com/goodworkspresents. Please feel free to forward this message and spread the word to any who may be interested in participating!

Stay shiny and keep flyin'!

Yes, you do FillyGirl.

Only donations made online between 3/20 and 3/27 are eligible for this raffle. People who have donated previously are welcome to make a qualifying donation during this time period in order to enter the raffle.

Our previous raffle (held at B3) also only used donations made during a specified time period.

The purpose of this raffle is to encourage additional donations - both from those who have donated previously, as well as those who have not. We at Good Works are grateful for all previous donations, and wanted to provide extra incentive during the last week of the drive.

Hey yeah, I donated before too. Grrrh!! Arrgh! Just kidding.

Those of us who donated before had the honor of donating without an extra incentive. So our gift was more pure. Not that there is anything wrong with PRIZES!

You know I was gonna donate more anyways cause it is like for the Captain. But Whoo-hoo! Prizes!

Nathan's birthday is the day after mine. And his birthday is the anniversary of the liver transplant that saved my mom's life.
So in honor of all that goodness, I made a donation. Not much, just gave what I could.
But it's definitely a time worth celebrating for me. I think maybe we'll all have to toast the 27th with a big Mudders Milk (but not mom, heh)!!

Did anybody ask FOX if they could send you any Drive Alex Tully driver's licenses that you could use as prizes?

I'd even buy one if FOX sold them.

It'd be great though wouldn't it?

Let's see if I can find a pic of the licenses....

That would be very cool wouldn't it?

Off to ask how we do that....

Folks from Fox were handing them out on 5th ave as promo items for DRIVE, along with air fresheners. I am excited to see it! I hope it is a HUGE success. Take care. Happy Spring!

So FOX is like handing these things out on street corners.

That's $100 since this last prize promotion was started...not since the beginning of the whole campaign.

You know when I donated on St. Valentine's day I picked a certain amount and my credit card only got charged less than that. On the line it said the original amount CANADIAN DOLLAR, but the charge on my card was less.

So another little bonus for US donors...exchange rate bonus.

If you get in touch with anybody from FOX, you could ask for a Drive Press Kit as a prize.

Happy Birthday, Cap'n!

Today is Nathan's Birthday! Let's celebrate! Take a moment, catch a Drive promo, throw in a Firefly DVD, listen to some Softwire, leave him a greeting on his MySpace page... and support Edmonton's Fringe Theatre in his honor!

Today (March 27) is the last day of Good Works' Keep the Fringe Flyin' campaign, a fund drive benefiting Fringe Theatre Adventures in Nathan's honor. This highly praised theater company, where Nathan developed his improvisational skills and love for acting, gives much to the community of Edmonton, and depends heavily on private donations. By supporting the Fringe Theatre in celebration of his birthday, fans can honor Nathan, his training grounds, and his hometown!

To celebrate Nathan's birthday, and this last week of the fund drive, Good Works has organized the Keep the Fringe Flyin' Wrap-Up Raffle! Today is the last day to make a donation as part of this drive, and the last day to make a qualifying donation to enter the raffle for these great prizes:

* MakeUSmileTees gift card - good for two officially licensed t-shirts, and shipping
http://www.makeusmiletees.com/setsh.html
* Can't Stop the Serenity limited edition teaser poster
http://www.cantstoptheserenity.com
* Can't Stop the Serenity limited edition t-shirt

* Serenity Region 4 PAL DVD with Collector's Tin (Australian Release)
* Serenity Region 1 DVD (United States Release)
* Firefly: The Complete Series Region 1 DVD set (United States Release)
* Serenity Region 1 Special Edition 2-Disc DVD set (to be shipped after its release in July)
* First-printing Serenity #1 comic (Mal cover), signed by cover artist John Cassaday at WizardWorld Chicago in 2005, near-mint to mint condition, bagged and boarded

To enter the raffle and donate, please click here: http://www.goodworkspresents.org/raffle2.html and follow the Wrap-up Raffle instructions.

We all appreciate Nathan's work and his spirit. Let's show our appreciation, and share our appreciation, by giving back to the place that gave him his start, in honor of his birthday.

Thank you all for your participation, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAP'N!

Best regards,

I (accidentally) celebrated my own birthday with Nathan Fillion !!!
For my birthday yesterday my husband took me to the movies to see "Reign On Me". Might not sound like that great of a birthday, but with 2 kids, we rarely go to the movies anymore.
Anyway, the very first preview they showed was "Waitress". And it wasn't the tiny little clips I've found online -- it was a full length trailer. I was jumping up and down in my seat. Made a complete fool of myself but I don't care.
"Reign On Me" is getting a lot of attention (excellent movie, by the way) and it's certainly bodes well for our Captain that he's partnered with it.
Didn't get to toast our birthdays with a Mudders Milk like I hoped. Had to settle for an ice cream from Marble Slab. Yum!

So what's the grand total?
Any word from the Fringe Theater?
