I'm a very new (but very enthusiastic!) Firefly fan with my own shiny new DVDs, and I was just wondering what channel it was originally aired on. Was it the Sci-Fi channel or Fox's general network? Sorry to ask such a silly question. I love this site! It's absolutely wonderful to find so many other fans!!!

It aired on local fox stations everywhere, scifi was never involved.

Enter the rest of the community to reiterate once again all the mistakes they made in handling it...

Thanks so much for the info. Shame on Fox (which I know everyone else has already said but I'll add anyway). I can't wait for the movie! But meanwhile, here I go to re-watch all the episodes...

Well, in the UK it was aired on Sci Fi channel - and whenever they aired it, it made Sci Fi one of the top 3 digital channels!!! Joss' magic really is appreciated over here.

I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are, for a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star

Alright, haven't we got enough threads bashinf FOX TV. What was done was done and lets leave it at that. But it is getting quite tiring to hear the same old FOX bashing. Don't we all have a movie to promote and lets not forget the DVDs.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

Point well taken. We do have a movie to promote, and, as Martha Stewart would say..." thats a good thing."

However, in order to show the newbie a bit of the local color, a bit of Fox T.V. bashing for old times sake would not go amiss.

Here's another silly question...that I couldn't find anywhere else...

Did anybody else notice that Ron Glass ("Book") was not listed as a cast member in the Variety press release...

...now...did I miss something?

...or is Shepard not gonna be part of the movie...which would suck...

I know. I'm just hoping that it's not a solid list they posted and that he'll still be in somewhere or at least mentioned.

That was a list of everyone who had signed so far. Alan Tudyk wasn't on it either. But if you believe the later article here:

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/gofuton.cgi?action=newswire&id=6442

they've both since signed.

Yeah, I was sure the article ran out of room or something.
I'm pretty new here myself. Not to the world of Firefly, I recorded every episode as it came on, but new to the site. Welcome aboard!
I've got a question that'll be minor and silly itself: What's the "Blog" system for? I haven't seen anyone else's profile with one to kinda get a feel from, so I figured I'd just come out and ask at risk of sounding like a complete dumbass.

"I'll be in my bunk."

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Nope. Can't bash Fox enough for their mishandling of Firefly, their cancelling the show, or their putting Joss & crew, not to mention the fanbase, through the ringer trying to get the show back on the air.

I am more than grateful for the movie, but not a single bit of the effort for the movie is due Fox. May they rot in the special Hell.

Welcome to the board MissouriFirefly. Always glad to have a new Browncoat aboard. Enjoy those DVDs and post often as we like new folk w/ different views on all things Firefly.

Good gravy, for a moment there, I thought they'd discontinue Zoey having a loving husband AND a wisecracking pilot. *laughs* I would have missed his joking of being shot at while he's trying to pilot.
Also Ron's seriousness to do a 180 (Mrs. Reynolds, "Special Hell Scene")

I kind of figured the Blogs were for journal entrys. I've been meaning to write in them, but I don't know what about. Plus I already have one, so it'd be 2 different entrys or maybe the same thing.
