I've been voting for Firefly just about everyday for months now...is there to be no rest ever?

And now...when we do pass Bonanaza today, I'd like all to pause a moment and pay respect to that great show....that show that came on in COLOR when only a handful of shows were in color....those episodes were great morality plays about good versus evil, right versus wrong....heck, you could'a gotten a lot more spiritual education and life lessons from watching that show than going to church on Sunday. So I say to Ben, Adam, Hoss, Little Joe, Hop Sing, Candy, Sherriff Roy, & all the others a big thank you for being a large part of my life growing up. Number 3 is still a great position to be, and a real tribute to the show that's been off the air for almost 40 years.

I was never a huge fan of Bonanza. Maybe I was a little too young at the time. (The only western I watched regularly was The Wild Wild West, which probably tells you something.) Still, their fandom is indeed mighty.

Of course, it was hugely popular in its heyday and is still on in continual reruns. Those factors help keep its profile high, compared to a half-season of a relatively obscure S/F show. So that makes us mighty, too.

Hey Doncoat...when I was growing up TV Westerns were very, very popular....there were dozens of great & really great shows...the most notable being:
Bonanza
Gunsmoke
Big Valley
Gunsmoke
High Chapparrel
Rawhide
Zane Grey Theater
The Rifleman
Branded
Texas John Slaughter
Wagon Train

To say that one was better than the other would be a matter of personal taste.
