I think Drive just might push him near, then his first big BIG movie (like Bruce Willis' Die Hard) might not be far off...
I say two years.

I think sooner if people think Drive is good, maybe they'll go check out his other works.

Then we can recruit more browncoats, which is always a good thing.

STOWEAWAY

It's unfortunate that "Waitress" is still listed as a limited release. I think he could make the A list as a romantic comedy leading man. Never mind Bruce Willis-type stuff.

YINYANG

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Never! The A-list is a vast wasteland of corruption!

Besides... he would never have time (or, at least, a lot less time) to update his MySpace, or go to conventions and stuff...

Why the fuss over his Hollywood status anyway? We recognize his talent, he loves doing what he does, and it's all good.

(Oh, did I mention the vast wasteland of corruption?)

It just doesn't matter; it just doesn't matter (well, at least to me).

I hope never....not that I don't wish Nathan everything he wants & deserves, but if being in the tabloid rags and on ET and its' ilk means you've made it to the A list I'd much prefer he stay where he is..lean, mean & great. I can just see it all now: Nathan becomes Hollywood's new star, he gets an E Channel True Hollywood Story, then he's busted for having a joint in his kilt while speeding in his Ferrari, then a stint in rehab, then speeches at political campaign rallies....Gorram it! Stay plain folk!

The higher in statis he rises, the more roles he will be offered, and the more we will see of him. Not everyone becomes an asshole. I happen to believe he has a moral foundation that would keep him gounded. The worst stories I read had to do with stars that grew up in that corrupt environment. They probably don't know any better.

Wouldn't it be cool if he could pick and choose the best scripts! I haven't got to see him in person at a convention, yet. I wouldn't let the lack of availability get in the way of a larger body of work. I love him, but I don't own him.

One summer.
One mission.
One army of Browncoats.
Starting June 23rd, we aim to misbehave.

Plus, I like to believe that the more of our BDHs that reach "A" list status, the more likely a Big Damn Sequel will be made.
If the stars of the movie have serious box office draw, then financial backing may be more forthcoming.

NCBROWNCOAT

Amen, Stowaway. My thoughts exactly. I think Waitress and Drive occuring togetherwill get him a lot of notice from casting directors etc. and will get Serenity II greenlighted.

I don't see Nathan becoming one of those "trash A listers", out getting drunk every night, drugs etc. He seems to have too much sense for that. Plus he's a bit older than most of that crowd.

I see him more as the old Hollywood type of star. Going out and doing all the promotion etc and actually enjoying it. And having a private private life.

We love him the way he is now isn't that good enough?

He seems to be too nice & likeable a guy to fit in to that bunch of egotistical, unbalanced, self-centred delusionals referred to as the A-listers.
The bigger his star rises the less he will be able to 'give back' to his fans; something he seems to enjoy doing.

I agree with Yinyang: it just doesn't matter.

1 Fillion = better than 1,000 Pitts or Cruises or Afflecks or Stallones....(...you get the point - none of THEM could make you laugh as much as Nathan can)
Corny? perhaps. Don't care.

I too sorta hope it doesn't happen. I mean when he walked into our Serenity pre-screening the place when ape shit. He was fun and entertaining and nice and just everything you can imagine. However, if he hits the A-list he just won't have time for that type of stuff. Even if he does he'll be flooded by sheep who just follow the crowd and say he's awesome.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but unless he really wants that kind of life, I hope it doesn't happen.

CLEMENTINE

I'm with Stoweaway.

A-list = higher pay = fewer total projects = more time for conventions = able to greenlight pet projects = Serenity II

I can't see him abandoning friends like Alan and James Gunn, just 'cause he's up the food chain.

Bring it on for fantastic guy!
