SAINT JAYNE
Quote:Ernest Hancock in a reply to an email: One of my listeners turned me on to the DVD's and I watched them all in 3-4 days. I got it right away (a freedom lover can spot another very easily). I asked for some fans to come forward and found that the libertarian movement was full of them. So I have one from Tucson driving up to Phoenix to be in studio and another from Phoenix. One is a computer engineer I think and the other is a biogenetics lab scientist. My listeners let me know that the movie was coming so I wanted to start getting Phoenix ready for the "Serenity Party" we'll be having on opening day :) My show is very political and often serious but this series was really making a statement and ready to go places so I know I can use its message in a way that will get my audience interested in it. I understand why the suits either didn't have a clue or were not supportive of the message. It'll be a lot of fun. I hope a lot of fans tune in to hear how much impact the series is having long after its cancellation (also wouldn't be bad for the suits to hear - the archive will be there forever for them to check it out) Let me know if you need me to do anything to help you promote it. The Internet streaming is available as well as the archive that will have the show up within 3-24 hours. Thanks for your interest, Ernie

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Quote:Originally posted by AURaptor: Good point, but I'd rather folks have seen the show FIRST then talk about any political implications than the other way around. No, seriously... in my own case I learned of the show through Lux Lucre. I don't watch much boob-tube, and when I do, I find new and creative ways of avoiding Fox. They have been bad news for a while folks! Anyway, lux turned me on to "this" just before the DVD's came out so I bought the set. The rest is history. I don't plan on being involved in this community much beyond planning and executing the Tucson "Serenity Party"... I got my fingers in too many other pies for y'all to be wondering if I'll try to take your fine hats here on your (very, by the way) fine web-site. ;) (think of how jayne would say it) rick

The guy mentions wanting to talk about Firefly but all I heard were people calling in about local stuff. Can someone please post the archived show that I listened to last night? I may have downloaded the wrong one. Yet, he does mention Firefly in the tape I heard.

Sorry fella, I know why I like it. I don't need to be held by the hand and have my emotions, likes and dislikes explained to me by someone who feels he knows me more than I know me. I enjoyed the conversation, but his attitude of having to 'splain things to the little children began to grate on my nerves. "Just keep walkin, preacher man."

And every time he said that, he reiterated that it was because of the overwhelming Libertarian message. Sorry fella, I know why I like it. Quote: Although fans have all sorts of reasons for loving this show, I think it boils down to excellent, convention-defying writing, a great cast with amazing chemistry from the first scene, and seamless transitions between entertaining action, riveting drama, and ROTFLMAO humor/comedy all within one 45 minute episode. Check out episodes like 'Our Mrs. Reynolds' our 'Out of Gas' for the best examples of this. Oh, and downloads of the TV eps are available here [versaphile.com], but only for a short while longer, so get them while you can! "They've canceled the show but we're still here. What does that make us?" "Big damn junkies, Sir!" "Ain't we just.
