Hey JD,

The Forsaken. Now I've only been a member for a few months so I'm sure I'll get corrected if this is inaccurate.

My understanding of where The Forsaken come from is that a few years ago there was a member who was quite religiously active and was happy to tell anyone on the FFF.net that they were going to the burning place if he didn't agree with your beleif system, (we are a diverse lot here that run the range from Wicken to Athiest to Shepherd).

The main group that he targeted decided to band together and they became The Forsaken. Damned for eternity to burn in the pit... or Coventry as some call it, (the UK lot will get that ).

Close but not exactly.

The person in question made a list of people that he-she-it referred to as being forsaken since we reveled in our non-belief (or alternative belief). We decided to turn that condemmnation around and became The Forsaken!!!!!

I was on the original list, I just haven't really felt any need to continue my participation with the Forsaken since that person is gone now.

Does anyone have links to the original threads. I'd love to read them.

I'm pretty sure the person is still here, since I think it was just a joke by regular to lighten up the mood in RWED, which wasn't too pleasant at the time.

Read the second thread I linked to, which is the original thread and say that again.

Looked at it again (thanks for bringing back the fun memories, btw ), and I can't see how this wasn't a joke by someone. A good one, though.

Not falling for it Khyronisall

Well there is a lot of frankly funny ramblings but there is also some direct attacks that weren't funny. It may have been a joke I don't know, but if it was IMO it got way out of hand. I can't prove you wrong but I don't think it was a joke, I think it was an actual highly disturbed individual.

Well, I've read the original text and from what I can tell you guys were havin some trouble gettin on so a dude came along and hurled som random and abusive stuff at you and LOOK!! you all joined together to make him look stupid, then he had a choice turn arround and explain what he was doing so you'd all go Ooh that was funny, look i said cool things, then drift away and start your old fights again or fuel it some more then leave you all to it, How many forsaken do you have?....

But i'm a newbie, it was a verry long thread so I didn't bother with it all and I don't know what the atmo was like before this wierdo turned up, The things he said were very strange and he never tried to defend himself...or explain himself, was he weired? seriouse? i'd like to speak to him, find out what it was all about! if he was for real tho i'd teach him about the bible, he's a little confused!

Maybe he got sent to Afganhistan or Iraq or Bush's peach tree farm in Cuba...

Having fun yet?

Thanks for the Nekkid Pyre Dance I was afraid I missed all the nekkid dancing around flames ... hmmm, maybe that aint a good idea to mix that with the imbibing of alcoholic beverages ... bits may burn.

I am new and I really felt bad to be left out of being told I was going to burn in hell (what with being a Rationalist/Atheist and all). A Jehovah's Witness (or some other random Pyramid-scheme type of religious person trying to convert the heathens one house at a time) once said that I "live in a house of sin." I kid you not, he actually said those words! Just because I rushed out of the shower to get to the door and only had a towel (it covered, sheesh!). He was the one that was knocking at my door uninvited!!! No wonder some people don't believe in evolution: it just passed them by entirely...

As a side to this an Aussie comedian, Saffron, did a section/skit on his TV show (Saffron Vs God) by door-knocking USA bible-belt country to try and convert people to Atheism. He went around with a book of Darwins theory of evolution instead of the bible -- the idea was hilarious, but he did stuff up the delivery a bit.

I will think of a signature later. It will be so stunningly brilliant your entire life will pale into insignificance when compared to the few words that will be written here.

That was nice, I think I'm gonna steal that line.

I remember Safran's sketch from a couple of months ago. Here it is for all to see:
