Hello everyone, I am a NEWBEEEE!

I knew I would fall in love with Serenity when I first saw the trailer for the movie. I waited, and waited until it came to the theatre. However, the cinema here did not order the movie in. What was I to do?!? So I waited until it came out on DVD, but the none of the retailers carried it. Ok, Finally I got my mitts on the Serenity DVD. Completely loved it. I bought the complete series right after and watched it in four days. I tried to save the episodes by watching one episode a day, but I could not help myself. Now that I am done, I only want more, and it makes me teary eyed that there was no more. How come Sheperd Book knew all those things? What was his secret? Will Mal and Inara EVER get together?
I guess I was also wondering if there was a chance of a sequel? Also, Is there really a Special Edition DVD of Serenity coming out in July?

Big Damn Sequel? We're still, er, hopeful.

Special Edition? Definitely! We expect the movie itself will be the same (no "director's cut") but there will be a cast commentary and more special features, including the River Tam Sessions (you can see them on YouTube if you haven't yet).

Yep, there will be a special addition dvd in July. It will have all the extra content that the Brits and Aussies got that was left off of our dvd. No altering of the movie itself.

Have you read the comics Joss did called "Those Left Behind"? It tells events that happened between the end of the series and the beginning of the movie. There is also another Joss written mini series coming out called "Better Days".

BILLYBIGBALLS

Im kinda a new fan too, I watched Serenity the movie when it first came out back in 2005 and loved it. Then this week while searching through IMDB and seeing the beautiful Gina Torres, I saw the Firefly series, what a golden find!

I spent all Easter Sunday watching 15 episodes and it was amazing viewing. I was totally immersed in the verse, loved every minute of it

Im really chuffed to have seen the series, but saddened at the way the series ended

Thanks to all the cast and crew for all the fun and laughs I got from both the series and movie and to Joss for such great imagination, now pull some strings and get a second series dude

Welcome Hopeful! Regarding a sequel, chances are one in...a very large number. :) But it never hurts to keep spreading the word, because the more people who watch (and preferably buy their own copy of) Serenity, the better the chances and at least you are helping to grow the fandom and spread the joy that is Firefly! :)

Regarding "Those Left Behind, and "Better Days", I don't really know how to get my hands on them. Do I go through Darkhorse? I don't really know that much, and I am kind of embarrassed that I don't.

You should be able to get the issues of "Those Left Behind" at your local comic shop. I know mine still has a couple of copies of each of the nine character covers as well as the trade paperback compiling all three issues.

You do have a special edition Serenity movie to look forward to in July, and hopefull, after that, the sales will be so good that they'll green light a new film!

Until then, if you want more stories about our favorite crew, you'll have to read some fan fic:)

HIGGINS

I'm a newbie, too. Just discovered Firefly (both the series and the movie) and have become completely obsessed with it. It's just so gosh-darned cool! Is there a thread for "Firefly: The Musical"? I'm still learning how this site works ....
