May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Quote:Static, sweets, from a recently married woman - When she asks for your honest opinion, give it - and be prepared to be overruled. Also, about 4-6 weeks before the actual wedding, she will turn into Bridezilla. She will be more emotional than her worst PMS, and she will need to lean on you a lot. This is a temporary thing. Once the wedding is over, she will probably collapse in relief! Also, Shiny's right. Just about everything can wait. Things you want done way ahead are: Place to get married Place for reception Wedding/Bridesmaids dresses Invitations are about 2 months ahead, to allow time for the caterer (if you're having one). I would give a little extra time for the caterer, for last minute switch-ups. Pretty much everything I agonized over for 8 months before my wedding changed in the last 2 weeks. "Weddings, crime, and politics - Situation's always... fluid." One absolutely ESSENTIAL item - and do NOT let plans continue without this (believe me!!!) - She needs to have SOMEONE ELSE designated as the "go to" person if anyone needs anything on the wedding day. I know this not only from my own experience, but also from various friends' & relatives' weddings I've been to. The bride & groom have enough on their plates on "the big day" - someone else needs to handle the details if anything doesn't go exactly according to plan. (And something - even if it's minor - will not be exactly as planned... Roll with it. ) For example, if the CD player doesn't work, let 'em tell it to the "go to" person... Not the bride & groom... Etc. Most importantly (and I'm sure both of you know this), this is YOUR day (yours & hers) - concentrate on each other and all the fiddly details will fall away... (insert romantic "Awwww!" here ) Getting off my wedding soapbox now...
