The eloquence and lively repartee of your characters is not quite "Buffy"-esque and yet so much more alluring and thought-provoking.
I am aware that "Firefly" had a painfully short run, and that I am but a greenhorn (not yet a Browncoat), but I'm getting there (just finished Episode 9).
The fusion of wild west and sophistocated east is so anti-colonialism--I love it. Shows 2 cultures can co-exist. The rough-and-tumble locales are exciting, Mos Eisley-like, and yet comforting.
It is painfully puzzling to me how a show of this caliber could be yanked unceremoniously from the good American airwaves--is "The Simple Life" our standard for entertainment these days? Is "reality" more compelling than imaginative storylines. I ache for an answer.

SINGATE

I wouldn't call two overprivileged girls being placed in situations where they can mock the average joe reality but it does seem to attract an awful lot of viewers.

Most of the so called reality shows are more or less game shows where people publicly humilate themselves in order to win a prize. Apparently a lot of folks feel better about their own lives by watching others look stupid on national TV.

Welcome, Quirky1.

We feel your pain. In the world I want to live in, Firefly becomes an instant smash hit and runs for seven or eight years before starting a series of equally monumental movies.

Why isn't that this world?

Since you mention Paris, edit: :endedit

There is a Charity Serenity Screening being planned for June 23, 2007 for PARIS, FRANCE. Last year, organizers held events in 47 cities around the world, raising over $65,000 for charity.

Thank you.

So I guess "The Simple Life" is a show with "Paris Hilton" in it. Somehow I don't feel silly for not knowing about that information.

Awww, I wake up Sunday morning feelin' fine and then someone has to mention that woman. I feel all nauseous now.

My constant hope is that there will be a backlash against all these reality shows and the TV companies/networks will realise that it is quality programing and not mindless trash that actually appeals to most people. Unfortunately, I'll probably be sitting here wishing that till I'm 90.

MISSTRESSAHARA

Loswet common denominator, these days it's the lowest common denominator bcause most of the younger generation has the attention span of a flea (I ssaid most, obviously not anyone here or they wouldn't be Browncoats which in itself means people of high moral caliber and a fair intellegence) Someone called non/reality (because how is any of that real?) tv fast food television, and that's exactly what it is. In a world where computers get faster, music, movies, gams, and anything electronic is just a click away, and the idea of going outside and playing is an antiquated notion, there's a kind of hunger for cheep entertainment where your mind can shut off and you can dronley watch idiots be idiots and not have to think why they just busted guy B in the nuts with a coconut.

Lord help us all.

And Paris sucking? Well that was obvious from her naughty video's.

You refer to Paris' mediocre and lacklustre performance in her sex video?

Rickker wouldn't have dreamed to imply that Calhoun.
Paris Hilton. Doing Porn... never.
I myself couldn't imagine anyone would be stupid enou...
Wait.
Sorry Calhoun. Thats 'exackly' what Rickker implied.

I'm guessing that porn film was not exackly Oscar material.
I can imagine <>.
The prospect of watching Paris Hilton having sex would be like seing a 6-year-old child shove crayons up their nose all day. You waste all your money and have an immediate need to go to the hospital.
Mabye she thought she was horseriding and got confused.
