Congrats on the firsties NVG.

Re-post from other thread:

I still have yet to see it (Eurotrip) Mavs.

I actually own Sideways, Kinsey, The Wall, Scarface, and maybe a few others, and I have never seen them.

CK, I will agree with Kel from the end of the last thread, Clerks 2 was very funny, and is so not like the original (well, they make some references to it) that it will not change your view of it.

Holy s t Neko...You guys starting salary is $3,000 more than my current salary as a teacher with 8 years experience and 4 college degrees I HATE THIS STATE.. To explain: Utah ranks lowest in teacher pay, per pupil expenditure ( right now we spend $1.47 per student) and highest in class sizes ( average 42 kids per class) and sadly in total education budget we rank 51st...yes I said 51st ( we rank lower than Puerto Rico which is a U.S. protectorate) Stack em deep and teach em cheap that's the Utah way ( and you wonder why ignorant hicks abound)

Fly, I'm with you. When 'professional' athletes and actors get millions of dollars a year, the most important jobs (teacher first and foremost, but civil services like police and fire get paid pretty sh*ttily too) get crap. I think it should be the other way around. It takes something special to be a teacher, and them that's got it deserve to be compensated for it. Then again, no one listens to me about these sorts of things, at least not the people who might be able to change it.

Well said. (Amen, brother.) Teachers jobs would be easier if parents knew how to be parents. Should need a license.

If parents did the job that they need to, the teacher would be there to push the rest of the way. (I'd make a reference involving tipping a basketball into a basket, but, well, you get the idea.)

Take responsibility for your actions and for your kids.

aaaaaaaaah poor underdog...

Happily examining my spoils:) One of our teachers has a sister who lives in China right now and who will send back lovely pearl necklaces and such. Got a triple strand of plumb/peach freshwater, a beautiful 16 in collar of button pearls ( double row) and a necklace, bracelet, earring set of amethyst:)Day is looking up:)

Well we do get compensations ( as teachers) I mean we do get the whole summer off to work at our second jobs so we can afford to come back and teach next year:) The NEA (national education association) took a poll and found that 96% of teachers have summer jobs in order to make ends meet....However all those sports stars have second jobs too. They all do adds and such in order to be able to afford the really expensive personal jet and the 3rd house in Maui.

I will admit though, I have a really fun job I love so I can't complain ( though I do anyway) I taught my kids the word ubiquitous today and it's so fun hearing them find a way to use it to try and confuse their friends...

So I looked up "flowers" in the yellow pages to get a number. Under flowers it said: See Florist. Why bother? There is nothing in these yellow pages between florist and flowers. The page is full of colorful ads with flowers. I THINK I would have figured it out. Bah. I'm getting old and grumpy.

*snerk* yeah...6 weeks off to recover from (and if we have time and energy, possibly teach the summer school from 8 to 2...6 hours of teaching one subject for 5 weeks ) while spending money so we can be taking classes to do the continuous "professional development" and start all over at the end of July/begining of August. And let's not forget the job that most take to moonlight during the school year to make ends meet....

*blinks* 3rd house? Heck I can't even afford a 1st mortgage for a studio apartment here...*bites tongue and sits on fingers to prevent the rant that's forming*

I will admit though, I have a really fun job I love so I can't complain ( though I do anyway) I taught my kids the word ubiquitous today and it's so fun hearing them find a way to use it to try and confuse their friends...

Yep, if teachers were in it for the money, there'd be no one to teach the kids...(and as crazy as it sounds, I miss having a classroom with the kids in it!)

I realized that I play on USEast (roommate's fault) though so that probably wouldn't be the realm you guys would play on anyway. Then again if you're starting over then you can choose where ever. OK whatever not a big deal.
