You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Gee, I think you are seeing extra zeroes.

And no, I don't lurky the water cooler. Ever. Haven't since... oh, whenever it was that I was almost driven clean off the boards. But I'm sorry this guy is being a jackass. Again I ask how touching someone without their permission or invitation, let alone pulling of hair, is at all acceptable. I don't think you should talk to him, I think you should talk to his boss.

Time to go for a walk! It's a beautiful day!

There! Now I'm even.

You are absolutely right that innuendo and implied meaning are tough to read in the Internet. Please be assured, Mavourneen, that if something that I ever type about you can be taken two (or more) ways that the intent is that the comment be taken in a kind way. And if it is a little bit of a poke toward you, it is only done in jest. I like the people here in these threads.

That goes for you PR. And DTH, RIMG, HK, MSG. And others. People that I really like hearing from in these threads.

A girl like you? Lovely. Kind. Considerate. You brighten the threads.

Fly, I took what you said about her driving at least 2 of them straight as a compliment to her. :) (and no doubt she could)

I wasn't even thinking about it in any other way. Certainly not sexual. And for that I apologize. I'm not getting any clarification when I ask for it. There is too much danger of inadvertently offending someone when I post. It was fun for a while.

Sorry, guys. I got my panties in a twist over nothing. I am totally freaked out about having to talk to that designer, and I took out my "freaked-ness" on you, Rob. Sorry. (still) friends?

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

I'm sorry, Mav, but could you please tell us why you take offense? This guy at work has you on edge, I'm sure, but I think Fly was trying to compliment you. Aside from the impossibility of sexuality changing from totally gay to totally straight, the implied compliment is that you're attractive enough to bring out the 'bi' in a non-totally gay man. I realize your current problem is that you're working with someone who is attracted to you and acting inappropriately, so you probably don't want any more of them to be attracted to you, but I would say that not everyone with an attraction is going to behave that way. Most people know how to keep it on the downlow, and also respect a wedding ring. And it's a moot point if they are all completely gay...
Okay, I see why you didn't take it well, though; I withdraw my question. But I think Fly was trying to boost your spirits rather than imply that everyone should go after you in that unacceptable manner, or imply that the jackass who is going after you is absolved from blame due to your hawtness. Of course he is not, and no one should be pursuing you seriously as you are a married woman. (though gay men can be a great ego boost sometimes with the harmless flirting, but I digress)
Anyway, I have now rambled, but I'm going to post because I'd like to see if I'm right about why you're unhappy, and I think Fly might like to see some reasons, because now he's unhappy, and unhappiness in the Browncoat bar and grill is teh unshiny, and I would like to see its resolution.
And I still think you should talk to his boss rather than just him.

*edit* Well, now I feel silly... Glad you aren't so unhappy anymore, Mav

If I say something offensive right now, can I get a kiss, too? I mean this would seem like the perfect oportunity to say something unseemly...there are just so many things I could say just about this one response! (still haven't caught up on the thread so I'm throwing caution to the wind on this...)

FlyVote, I have found that while I sometimes fall hard because of my posting contents, that not posting at all for fear of reprisal is just not acceptable. If I offend--even unintentionally (which is always)--I apologize. Will I make the same mistake twice? Certainly. But the Browncoats that I am close to--and they are the only ones that matter--are a close-knit, very forgiving bunch. I wager they would rather have skinned toe-knuckles from you wayward dancing feet than have you remove yourself from our midst. (not wanting to dance with you myself, nothing personal)

Thanks, PR. I took a Big Girl pill; I'm better now. I know he didn't mean anything by it, and I totally flew blew it out of proportion.

I will be confronting said wanker in a few minutes when my coworker leaves for the day. I just want him to understand what you said, and how I feel.

Fly, don't go away cause I have no sense of humor...

If you want I could give you a spork, so that way when he grabs your hair, just poke him with the spork and say "Stop touching my hair or next time I'll break skin.".

Well.

Ok. Anger at designer has changed to slight pity for him.

I asked him into my office, as mine is the only one in the building that has a door (I keep all the financial records) and told him that I value him as a friend, but that is all it would be. all it would EVER be. Went through the "inappropriate to touch my hair" etc, etc.

He responded that since I quit smoking, he noticed how nice I smell, and that he always thought I was pretty but hated the smoke. He apologized for pulling my hair, and was sincere in his apology about today's remark. He thought that I was separated from Husband, and that I was interested in him because I had been nice to him. (I brought him and the other designers cookies last week. Leftover cookies!)

I feel a little sorry for him. I think he understands that I am married and not interested in him.

At last, the root of the problem. (Sahara has her hair done exactly like that today. It was very hard for me not to pull on it.) I know you have a thing about your hair, Red. (Don't know if I can call you that. It doesn't feel natural somehow. The feeling, not your hair.) True confessions: I am given to ponytail pulling meself but only of those with whom I feel extremely confortable around and carefully so as not to muss up any do that it might accompany.

You also have a thing about foot rubs.
