Seems to me those people voting for Bonanza may not even be fans, because frankly I can't see much of this generation really knowing what Bonanza was, or even is. And I don't see the older generation that watched it spending their time voting for the show (everyone would be in thier 70's 80's)

My guesse is it's people who hate Firefly (maybe Dark Angel fans or just anti fans in general) who have it against the show and Browncoats and are voting for Bonanza out of spite, because they know it will drive Browncoats nuts knowing a show that old is defeating Firefly. My two sense.

On that note a bump for you.

I remember Bonanza & I sure as hell ain't 70 or 80 (but I might admit to being 45ish

). In its day it was a must watch show. The burning map & intro theme music were/are as well known as the Star Wars intro music. My favourite shows of that era (late 60s) were Bonanza, Star Trek & Mission Impossible.

The show ran for 14 seasons - obviously it was not on Fox. IMO deserves a place in the Hall of Fame. I reckon there's a lot of younger folk who are enjoying watching it on DVD, Westerns are still pretty popular.

Don't know about the rest of you but since the last Windows security update, Flyvote.exe pops all kinds of script errors for me. I tried it on four different computers, same result on all.

Errors appear to be happening to several people. I've talked with TV_Vote, but they don't think that it is anything that they have done. When I can scrape together some time I'll try some changes to FlyVote to see if I can do anything to resolve this.

I can still vote using flyvote but it takes so many clicks of the "OK" button to get a vote registered that it's a lot easier just to use a browser and go to the site and vote. Just have to keep track of the time.
BTW, the last Windoz security update was for Internet Exploder.

Heh... did you know there's a "Bonanza" cable channel? Do you realize there's folks like me who remember fondly watching Bonanza with their familiy as they were growing up? I'm "only" 45. It was still a very popular show when I was a child.

Given the ongoing exposure of Bonanza, I would not underestimate thier pull.

Do I think there's "anti-firefly" folks voting for Bonanza, sure... but I'd guess it is ... 10%? Do I think there's "anit-bonanza" folks voting for FF? Yep, at least a few.

In short, assume the Bonanza fans are dedicated, love their show, and will be voting for it long after their horse had ridden off into the sunset.

This means: Organize! Vote! Ralley the FF fans!

I will caution that Buffy is only slowly overtaking Ponderosa; if that trend continues it will be a very close call on if Pondorosa beats Buffy to the top10.

Voting long and hard leads to major burnout. I not only vote on tv_vote, but also TV Tally and the BBC poll. My daily count is down from over 24 tv_vote's per day to about 16. but I'm still voting.

BTW, we are drawing very close to taking over the No. 1 spot on the BBC poll. If enough of us added that vote to our hourly routine today, we'd be the top sci_fi movie of all time on the world-wide BBC stage.

Yep, voter burn out is not to be discounted. My recommendation is to use your discression; and if it gets to be "too much", trim back your effort. For instance, FF has a 2:1 lead over the #2 show on TV Tally; I've stopped voting there (I'd go back if our position were put at risk). On the other hand, I'm very eager to see Serenity on top of the BBC poll, so I'm making a concerted effort to vote there each time I can.

So, do what is "fun" for you; try to avoid burn out.

Personally, I think anyone who gets 12 votes a day in on average on TV_Vote is a Humdinger Voter; and it's better to vote 12 times a day than none at all, so if it gets to be time to cut back; do so, and don't feel bad about it.

On the otherhand... if you got the votin' fever, have at it!!!
