Good Morning, Cooler!

New day, New thread.

Old used thread: http://fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=28729

The title refers to the old thread. The Browncoat Babes aren't one person typing under multiple screen names, but we are linked by the Psychic Friends Network.

I am going to kill Gee. And I mean, drag his body around and throw him down a well. Kill him.

That, my dear Shirtless One, is the million dollar question. I don't know. I have tried repeatedly to write a #7. I really have. And none of my efforts have been anywhere near the other 6. I get a PM every now and again from readers asking that same thing.

I don't know if I can finish it.

*runs off the find Gee and throttle him. Politely.*

In Gee's defense I have seen them before and was a couple in before he mentioned it. I often just jump around in the BSR and find a good story to read, then promptly forget who's it was and where I found it to begin with so I rarely finish a series. After I re-read the first 2 I realized that I had read them before and I just finished them the other day.

I noticed how long ago they were written. Hopefully that is not thereason why? Alternate Universes are good reads too ya know!

*realizes that he has brought up a touchy topic and stops now*

Ok not really. I really enjoyed the story Mavs and I hope that some day it will be finished!

I too plan to read it some day, and will probably make the offer of beer and/or cookies to be sent to you to inspire you to write more.

I'm not all that touchy. It's okay. If I were that touchy I would have deleted it long ago.
I appreciate that you like the series. I get a lot of good response from it, even now.

I wrote it back in 2004, when Husband & I were separated. It was a stressful time, and I needed both a creative outlet and a way to jump start my writer's block as I used to write non-fic on spec.

It's long. Something like 960 KB.
Thanks again. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I get asked to beta people because of that series.

But the Muse left when Husband & I reconciled. I've tried to write more.
Maybe I'll try again.

Well, I know Jimi can't see this pic, but I just saw this over at zap2it.com's home page so you can see it there.

I may actually have found a reason to watch ABC again.

It's called Big Shots -
"The tale of four powerful men and the women who love them, or used to, or who take them to couples' therapy. There's a breezy feel to the show that seems like a pretty good fit with its "Grey's Anatomy" lead-in, with all the lead actors (Joshua Malina in particular) getting to show off their comedic chops."

And it has some actors I really, really like.

I love Christopher Titus & Josh Malina.

And reasons not to watch as well:
The latest crop of prime-time offerings from the Walt Disney Co.-owned network is built around lighter, escapist shows, with character-driven stories, female protagonists and supernatural themes.
BAD:
The network even picked up a comedy called "Cavemen," adapted from the Geico commercials as an offbeat commentary on ethnic prejudice from the perspective of three prehistoric guys trying to make their way in the modern world.
GOOD:
Among the higher-profile dramas on the new lineup is the "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff "Private Practice," which follows Dr. Addison Montgomery (aka Mav clone) as she leaves her Seattle hospital to join a ritzy practice in California.

NBC might offer us some hope.

NBC rolled out five new dramas, several of which featured science fiction and female empowerment themes, including a 21st-century remake of the 1970s adventure "Bionic Woman."

We love clinging to fading hopes.

Hi Magda, Penguin, Kelhil, Jimi, and of course Fly!

Morning all... I am attempting to retrieve my calm and rational humanity, but I'm not sure that's happening.. OK this week has some sort of jinx going on LONG RANT IGNORE IF YOU WANT:)
So last night MisterG goes off to watch the game at my brother's and I decide to stay home and get sleep and all...instead I end up watering the whole front lawn ( by hand ...no we still haven't gotten sprinklers) and don't finish until after 11. Then my cleaning lady calls and says she needs to come Wed instead of Thurs so I then run around picking up and doing dishes and such as she only cleans and doesn't do pick up or dishes or such. So then I get the pets squared away and get ready and get into bed. Just as I am falling asleep ( about midnight) MisterG comes home and tries really hard to be quiet, but there's no way to be quiet enough for someone who's almost, but not quite, asleep. So I wake up and he comes to bed. Then I wake up at 2 am and then again at 6:30. Then I hurry to get ready and miss by a mile. I realize I'm going to be late to school. I turn on my cell to call my friend to open my class for me and there's a message from his wife that he's sick and they need me to do a lesson plan for him. I get to school as the bell is ringing and his sub is standing there wanting a lesson plan. So I scramble, find a classroom set of a story, get out blackline masters for the story map, handwriting practice, and questions and send a student to copy....ARGH!

That makes what I was going to post seem quite trivial in comparison. Think I will wait a moment.

I hate the "Husband comes in late but you wake up anyway" thing. That happens on nights he plays softball at 8PM and doesn't get in till after 11.

HUGS thanks all..I'm just grateful he actually has a sub and I'm not having to cover Bruce's class too.
Poor MisterG got yelled at this morning. When I was driving to work late, only to find out that Bruce wasn't there and it was chaos, I called home to get a phone number and snapped at MisterG. Luckily he was nice about it.
I do have altoids though. 3 boxes. Plus I just had a nice cappuchino so I feel better( well betterish)

Enough about me and my whining...so how is everyone else??

Mav I had this thought for the sniffer... next time he does it, turn around, look him dead in the eye and say " Much as I am happy that you like my perfume, If you keep sniffing me, I will assume you are an untrained puppy and act accordingly. So if you don't want to get swatted with newspaper...stop it" Use a fairly loud voice so that everyone turns to look. Alternately, you could buy a small bottle or get a sample of your perfume and put it on his desk with a note saying " If you like it so much, wear it yourself."

MAVOURNEEN

Normally, the staff call my extension to ask questions (remember, I'm a floor away from the designers ) - but occasionally, they will come into my office.

He walks in, and acts very casual. Both my wacky co-worker, and the owner's wife, are in the room.

He says "Maura, can I get the COD on order #XXX?" so I say "Of course."
As I turn to the computer to look it up, he comes up besides my chair, and leans over slightly - looking over my shoulder at the screen. Not exactly violating my personal space, but not exactly in Zimbabwe, either.

And then there is this really noticible, drawn out, sniffing sound.

:eyerolling:

I just looked at him with this totally blank look on my face, told him the number, and watched him leave.

Coworkers didn't say anything.

I like the puppy reaction. I think that's the one I will go with if this happens again.
Interestingly, we just got new employee handbooks today, with several new pages on sexual harrassment.

But what happened today could be definitely denied by him, as there were two other women in the room.
But I'm not ready to go there.

EDIT: Sorry about the bad day, MsG.

I wouldn't suggest doing anything that would be even remotely amusing. Mav should be 100% fed up with this guy and should let him know. Anything that could be interpreted as playful will likely not discourage the guy enough.

Hi CK:) HUGS how's it going

Oh I think that would depend on voice tone, facial expression and such. I've used somewhat humorous lines to scare the life out of some guys. But then I've perfected the killing look along with dripping sarcasm and a voice that( though it doesn't seem like I'm yelling) carries a long way. It really is scarily effective and I only use it if I've politely and then directly told a guy I don't like what they are doing, because it's reasonably humiliating and harsh...

Oohh, now you're just askin for trouble, aren't you?

Edit: Hi MsG! Things are going pretty well here. Couple of work stresses, and I'm getting ready to fire my doctor (again), but other than that things are good.

Looks like you're having a craptastic morning (one of those "terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day" mornings), but how are things other than that?
