*gee wanders into the bar with 5 days of stubble, eyes flitting from side to side clutch a stick, a bananna and an empty bottle of Lucozade*

herumm, long weekend followed by two days of travelling for work makes gee a late and tired man. Missed demonstrating he remembered that i is an impossible number as you can't find the square root of one but can use it to do some funky algebra once accept it is possible and yet can exist (should be able to explain it better but it is nearly ten years since I did maths a level but I need to get re-aquainted sharpish when I restart studying). Also missed, bar nakedry, beautiful female eyes and the abusive of the English language, where to start? Truth is bed, so I'm going to grab a hammock and sleep here, I'll catch you in the morning and I'm sorry if I snore.

It would be VERY long, so I'll give the outline:

My mother and I have never been close, seeing as how she dumped me with my grandma for over half of my life. We fight a lot, this last time was paticularly nasty, It almost turned into a fist-fight.

My aunt has been with this guy for about 8 years. None of the family likes him anymore, my aunt pays most of the bills even though he has a well paying job. To make a long story short, they got into a fight, she told him none of us like him, he told her to tell us that if any of us have anything to say to him come say it to his face. So I'm very close to going over there and speaking my mind, then if he feels offended, I'll gladly beat the shit out of him.

Okay, rant over. Whew that felt good!!!

That is an amazing compliment coming from FFF's very own supermodel! Okay, that was less flattering than I meant it to be as I personally do not find many supermodels attratctive. Please delete and insert the name of the celebrity you find the most hot. In fact you really remind me of a particular hot babe but I can't remember her name and I don't have time to look her up as I'm already late for work.

Any suggestions from the audience?

Today was.... interesting. We got responded to an abattoir fire today, in the hook room no less. So while it had been raining for the past 8 hours and showed no signs of letting up, we were sweating to death inside a building that smelt like a massive black pudding... cooked by Jayne. Lots of charred meat/offal and boiled, um, drippings I guess (which covers blood, fat and other stuff).

And guess who was cooking steak for dinner tonight?

I have heard (and am searching for) a quotation by Winston Churchhill poking fun at people who focus on dangling prepositions ("Ending a sentence with a dangling preposition is something up with which I will not put.”). One of my freshman roommates (and one of my best friends to this day) was a stickler for it, and even got me doing it for a while. I have been since told that it is not an actual grammatical rule.

hey RIMG,

I believe the terms you bolded were abatoir, ofal and black pudding.

Abatoir = slaughter house ie. death for animals
Ofal= organs, usually edible so kidneys, livers etc
Black Pudding = food, made from cooked blood, animal fat, barley etc, kind of hard to describe as many recipees

Abbatoir(noun): see also slaughterhouse, meat factory, killing and cutting joint. The place where live animals go in, and various cuts of meat come out.

Hook Room(noun, trade term): see also freezer, storage, departure lounge. The room (usually chilled to near or below freezing (depending on the parts and how far they have to travel) wherein carcasses and haunches of meat are hung to store temporarily.

Black Pudding (noun): Food, made with all sorts of parts, including boiled blood.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Pudding

Offal (noun): Cover-all term used to describe intestines and other organs of animals. Commonly found within sausages, haggis, black pudding and various other dishes.

The fact that it was meat being over-cooked by the flames wasn't so big a deal (well, not to me, although it would've been to the owners), it was more that the source of the flames were the cylinders of flammable gases used as coolants in the place. Needless to say, it was somewhat nerve-wracking until we got things under control.
