Inadequate information....
Please specify: total letter count or unique letter count?
For "the alphabet," unique letter count is 7....

(No poison at the scene, or no poison detected in the blood chem? Regardless of the blood work-up, there are some poisons that either dissipate quickly or are completely masked by natural means.... And who collected the evidence, anyway? How many people went through that room before it was secured?)

Cause of death: too many possibilities. Old age? Heart attack? Eschemic stroke? Abdominal aortic aneurysm? Nerve gas? Suffocation? Choked / drown on water? Swallowed the rest of the broken glass and died of internal hemorrhage? Bird flu?

I never liked these sorts of questions... and questions on standardized tests... because they never provide all the information needed to supply an accurate response.

okay maybe i've been an enginerd all my life

I assume the names are significant.

Which implies that they didn't die the way Shakesphere wrote them to (unless the water somehow disentegrated the pages of a book).

The water/no mark/no poison suggests drowning, but I have yet to find a use for the broken glass (or what it was before it was broken).

I don't think either of these are correct, as they seem to obvious to me, but that is the way I am thinking about it...

EDIT: RIMG heart HK because she is such an enginerd. *hugs*

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Nah, don't focus on the names.

The only hint I'll give you is that you also shouldn't assume they were human.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

Ah, of course. Should have paid attention to HK and her analysis techniques. The names make the reader assume they're human. I knew I was thinking too hard.

They are two dead seahorses because someone broke their bowl.

AHA!!!!

They were revealed to be long lost relatives of the Wicked Witch of the West, Dorothy found out and came to exact vengence upon the family.

She threw a glass of water at them, it shattered, and they melted.

I heard it as goldfish, but seahorses work just as well

Okay, next: A black dog is standing in the middle of a black street, the buildings around it painted black. All the streetlights and other lights are out due to a recent storm. A car with two broken headlights drives towards the dog and turns to avoid it. How was the driver able to see the dog?

Daytime indeed

I'll have to see if I still have my old mindtrap game and dig it out; I don't remember half of the scenarios.
