Okay - I find this one interesting. It's the Beeb for heaven's sakes! Given that this link is rarely vumped/bumped etc in comparison to the TV votes poll, I gather that others are not as interested as me?

http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6517155.stm

The poll is not shut off (I have no idea why) - we don't know how often our vote counts although experimentation says it's more than once a day, it's not as much as once an hour.

The results from the SFX poll that are reported in this article (under the second picture) ARE NOT the results of this poll itself; this poll is the BBC seeing if they would get different results from the SFX poll.

Since my panicked noting of the Star Wars upsurge, we have regained ground. Yay. But it would be more comfortable to keep a really good lead and it seems like our lead is very overtakeable at the moment.

I've seen some evidence that strongly suggests that only one vote per day counts; if you've seen something that suggests anything more frequent than that counts, I'd be interested to hear it.

Yes, I'd like to see a solid 1000+ vote lead, which will happen when we a bit less than 3% ahead.

Still voting. But wondering if BBC is doing some sort of study on how long rabid fans will continue to vote on a poll

WE WIN! WE WIN THE RABID FAN POLL!

Still voting too!

I'm hoping they didn't just forget to close the poll and are waiting for some magic number.

Sales on Amazon.com UK went up when the SFX poll happened.

I was merely trying to sum up the things that have been said about this poll on other threads -- I was not the originator.

On one of the BBC threads, I can't remember which, someone reported on experiments they had done on how often one can vote - it is to be hoped I accurately reported a summation of the upshot of those experiments; profuse apologies if I didn't.

No biggie; was hoping you might have had a good set of firm data to show otherwise. My best guess is 'daily' based on observations over time.

We are still headed in the right direction!
Serenity 35.66%
Star Wars 32.89%
Blade Runner 18.99%
Planet of the Apes 2.03%
The Matrix 10.44%
37239 Votes Cast
Keep on chugging!
