The Softwire

A wonderful campaign is underway to convince Candlewick Press to have Nathan Fillion complete his audio recording of PJ Haarsma's sci-fi novel, The Softwire: Virus on Orbis 1. Nathan is spellbinding in his reading of the first three chapters of this imaginative and exciting book. Many of us have long desired to see the project finished, but the publishers have never moved forward on it. We decided it was necessary to speak up and let Candlewick hear our voices. We are successfully getting their attention, but we need more voices to drive the point home!

All we need is for you to write one polite and respectful email to Candlewick Press, ASAP. Be sure to stress in your email why Nathan is the right choice to voice the audio book. You must tell the publishers what they want to hear, which is that you will buy the audio book if Nathan is the one recording it. The publishers, understandably, only care whether the audio book will bring them money, so you have to get across that Nathan's Reading = Sales for Candlewick Press. If hearing Nathan read the first three chapters caused you to buy a copy of the book, tell them!

Nathan's reading of the book is just so good, it brought it alive for me. I've ordered books for my daughter and I and then for my grandson's and my nephews.

There's going to be a whole series of books, and it'll be so cool if Nathan gets to do an audio recording of them all. He obviously enjoys the characters.

I bought a signed copy (by PJ) that I'm expecting either today or Monday. I also sent a shiny email to the publisher. I received a nice reply that indicated that they have noticed our interest in Nathan doing the audio recordings.
