Hi All,

I have come late to this group (I was working on my PhD and missed it until now) sorry! Anyway, I am a folk muscian when I am not studying computers and and I was wondering, is there any sheet music, song books, fake books, etc... that can give me a leg up on how to play the Firefly theme, Ballad of Jaynestown, etc... I would dearly love to make some of that music.

I found this place. Just type in Joss Whedon as artist. They have most but not all the songs from Firefly. I was surprised not to see Hero of Canton, my favorite.

It lists at about $14.95.

It beats the heck out of faking a chord progression after listening to it a bunch of times. I suspect that the theme is in a weird minor key so the chords won't be common ones. I think I will do as you suggest.

Hey StarTroop, welcome to the party! You may be surprised to find out how many people have only found the 'Verse in the last few years. I was working overnights and planning my wedding for the few months Firefly was on TV, so I didn't even know about it until Serenity hit theaters. So you aren't alone!

The good news is you're just in time -- they released a book of piano sheet music from Firefly just a few months ago. Amazon has it here: http://www.amazon.com/Firefly-Music-Original-Television-Soundtrack/dp/

The book looks good, though it's piano and I an guitar player, I can puzzle it out. I did try and get it through FFF but that was not successful. I am going to get back to work and give it a try when I have half a brain.

Good luck! I'm a violinist always looking for people to play with...actually...needing a guitar player to play with this summer for some Firefly/Serenity events... I hope you have fun!

I wish I could play with you, but its been a while since I lived in North Dakota. Music has been my avocation for a long time, its a great balm when the world becomes too intense. It would be very cool to do some of this music with a decent fiddle player.

It allows you to input a piece of music and then you can change range, key, or instrumentation and the software will adjust the music to the desired notes.
