I'll admit right off that this will not be the most engaging thread on the board, but you'll notice how that doesn't stop me. Here's the deal: We're going to be getting two kittens, my husband and I, both of us which should be female, neither of which have names. I'm looking for suggestions for Firefly-based names for them, but not obvious ones like River or Kaylee. I've already tossed up a few good planet names, but I thought I'd turn to Browncoat Central for help before deciding. Please help. My backup plan is to name them Tahbi and Zori, which is Japanese for socks and sandals.

CHANNAIN

i DO aim to misbehave

baobei - darling
mei mei - little sister

I wonder how "Darn Cat" would translate to Chinese?

Chinese for the RP Player - could be a couple options, although I like your back up plan too - those are CUTE!

My husband, David always refers to our oldest cat, Frosty, as "That damn cat".

I prefer to think of her as Frosty the Hell Beast.

What, you aren't going to call them Saffron and Sage?

I like Hera and Persephone. But then, I've always liked Persephone. I wanted to name our youngest cat that, but no, she wouldn't shut up and now her name is Cricket.

BTW
Peanut Butter - tortie cat
Snickers - Shih Tzu dog
Cricket - tuxedo cat

The only one we named was Cricket - the other two came with their names! Crazy, huh? Shoulda' named her Caramel, or something.

I'd vote for Yolanda-Saffron-Bridgett (pick any two) ;)

How about Mei-mei (i.e "may may")? Doesn't Simon call River that fairly often?

"Nishka" also sounds like a really good name for a cat. I can just see her playing with (er...tormenting) mice & other little critters...

"Nishka, solid name for cat, yes?"

I always wanted to use the names of the four girls in Shindig for something:

Banning, Destra, Cabott, and Zelle
