I've always claimed that whatever planet I'm originally from must have been 15-20 degrees F (10-12 C) cooler and a bit darker than Earth. I have an aversion to strong sunlight.

My BFF/wife prefers to sleep HOT at night, I much prefer to be a little bit cool.

M'm, jumping in again, have that issue with my flatmates, they like the house a good 6 or 7 degree's warmer then me, so I compromise by keeping my room heating off and the window open, and wearing just the jammy bottoms in the rest of the house. Hoping the slightly unpleasant sight of my skinny ribs will put them off heating soon xD

They may think their sins are original, but for the most part they are petty and repetitive.

CALIFORNIAKAYLEE

Hey all. Jumping in without reading everything I missed over the weekend. My health journal tells me that I am either in the middle of a mini-flare, or at the beginning of a full-blown flare, so I'm pretty out of it right now. On the upside, at least I won't be going to the new doctor this Friday saying "well I feel fine right now but usually I feel like crap, think you can diagnose that?"

Re: weather - My preferences have changed several times in my short life. Anyone else in the same boat? I grew up in Oregon, where 65° F (according to Google, ~18° C) was shorts weather, and 75° (~24°) was so hot we were begging Mom to let us pull out the inflatable kiddie pool. When my family first moved to California, it didn't rain once from when we moved in July until almost the end of November, and apparently I told my mom that if it didn't rain soon, I was going to kill someone, lol.

Living in Austin Texas for a few years taught me to fear the humidity and 100°+ (~38°) temps of the summer, and I was very very pale for several years, heh. But these days I live and die with the sun. I'm miserable if the temperature drops below 70° (~21°), and weeks of rain make me feel like I'm going to die. I'm happiest with sunny, breezy, and about 85° (~29°), though I'm good all the way up to 100°. 90° (~32°) at the beach is divine, especially with our ocean water coming directly from the arctic. Lucky for me, that's basically the weather we have around here. We haven't broken 90° yet this summer, mostly in the 70s and 80s and sunny. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to live anywhere other than southern California again, heh.

Re: best friends - I'd say hubby is definitely my best friend, though there wasn't ever a point when we were "just" friends. After hubby, my father is probably my next best friend, followed closely by my mom and the one school friend I've kept in contact with since the 3rd grade (whose first baby is due in 9 weeks, woot!).

Whew, ok, now I'm tired. Out for a bit again.

CK, Hi and bye! I hope you start to feel better soon.

Alright. I gotta go pick up the Tidbit. Everyone, have a great night. I will see y'all tomorrow.

Maryland can get quite humid, but generally we have rather tepid summers (around 80-85).
But I would never want to live where there are no real seasons. I want hot summers and cold winters. Changing leaves. Wet Springs.

Hobbleit...how is he at mending cars or laying concret, drywall, and other home repairs?? 'Cause though mine is great at it, he's too busy to help much.

OK and the fun car news continues... Now MisterG's car is making scary noises so I'm all worried it'll be more expensive...luckily 3rd job will be directly payign for D*C so no worries there.

Yeah ti does seem we've had mroe than our share of $ problems ( as an imponderable/bar and grill group) than would seem normal... Maybe we've been hexed

temperature...I prefer a high of about 65-68 degrees ( 18-20 degrees C) and a low of around 45 degrees ( 7 degrees C)

Best Friend in the non spouse catagory Magda followed by my sisters and brother

Jobs- I have far too many, but it'll all be worth it when I get to D*C

Ola, peoples.

Since I already have a moderately annoying 25-year old brother, I think I'll pass Hobbleit.

I live in Michigan, so anything above about 80 degrees (26 C) is icky. We live in the land of godawful humidity here.

I can't say I'd ever consider dating a best friend. I'm still working on getting a date period.

I hate heat, dry or humid.

If it never went above 50 degrees, I'd be in heaven.

I don't have any blood brothers, just god brothers, and I'm already treated like a step child.

So, no new siblings for me.

I think there should be some sort of big price is right style wheel that you get to spin when you come into work that has like a 1:64 chance of landing on "free day off". That would at least leave a bit of hope when you wake up in the morning.

RUGBUG

I'm back, I'm back! What'd I miss?

We're talking about temperature? Well, it was hot, hot (although not hot, hot, hot) at the show this weekend...with little to no shade to be found in the stabling area...which is where you spend most of your time. At one point, I took off my shirt (to try something on in the tack shop) and was shocked to see beaded sweat. It was warm. But somehow not awful. Don't know actual numbers because that makes my head hurt...if I know it's 100, I'm grumpy...if I just think it's hot, I can maintain a better attitude.

Ideally, I like the temp around upper 70s. Since buying my Jeep, I can handle mid 80s because it just feels better when driving with the top off. 70s is a little too cold for that with the wind chill...and with having to drive to the horse, which is at least a 10 degree drop. It gets chilly enough for gloves and parka driving home.

Horse show went well. I finished the first phase in 4th place. Never thought that would happen. Then had time penalties on XC so dropped to 6th. Dropped a rail in Stadium and dropped to 8th...which was the last place to get a ribbon..so I have a HUGE brown ribbon to show for my efforts, which is way cool. 8th doesn't sound all that great until you put the competition in context (it's like doing a triathalon and finishing 8th) and then it seems a little better. Competitive little me is bummed about the time faults which should've been avoided, but were just inexperience. Anyway...here's pictures of us on XC:

I did get slammed into in the warm-up ring for stadium. Some girl just broadsided us and knocked me (and her) off the horse. Horse is okay, I'm okay...but sore (I'm sure the pony is too, he just can't say it). Orion dragged me a little bit by my right arm...the bad one...and I can really feel it. It was totally her fault, but that's neither here nor there.

The other girl that went with us ended up 2nd in her division(and was actually a decent enough kid that I could be happy for her). She moved from 14th to 3rd after XC because so many people in her division got eliminated. The course chart was just carnage. Stops, falls, eliminations, etc. We had three stops and one withdrawal in my division...so less chance of moving around. All in all it was a fun experience and I'm actually thinking of doing another one at the end of August.

Um, and now that I've bored you all to tears...Best friends? I'm not really sure I have one of those anymore. I have a good friend from the barn, but that's just the horse side of life. I have good friends on the non-horse side, but they are missing out on a huge part of me.

Mavs...ack on the joblessness. I'm sending job landing vibes across the country for you.
