Rose have you considered teacher's aide? They don't make a ton, but they do ok and it's super flexible hours wise so you could work that out with them...plus you're smart and have a lot of patience and such and that'd be great for kids

Mav- this one might be a bit off beat, but have you considered the police?? OK I know I know, but you'd be an amazing dispatcher or records and research person and they have very specific set hours and it's a nice state job with good pension and such...plus there's all the fun and excitement of crime ( ok that last part is ridiculous, but hey the rest of it's true)

OK just call up your local school district and tell them you would be interested in teacher's aide positions and ask if they are hiring ( they will be) and then go on down, fill out the forms, do the interview...and voila! Really I think you'd be great. You have a lot of enthusiasm, you're positive and fun and you are really patient and full of understanding ( most of the kids who get aides who work with them have either learning problems ( not mental retardation, but dyslexia and such) or are just struggling. Plus you're really smart and catch on quickly which will make you quite the stand out when you are being interviewed and such:)

EDIT: The whole reason I came in here to post was to inform everyone that my friend Mike just informed me that his uncle who lives in Vegas was in an episode of Firefly, and when we looked him up, it turns out he played Skunk in The Message. I thought it was kinda cool. :)

I have / had a little black babydoll T with a stick figure in white with "BITE ME" written quite big on it.... I wore it to work - the first company I ever worked for - on a semi-regular basis. It was that kind of company - the good humour kind. I also wore it when C.R. Bard bought my company and closed us down to move operations to... some... Eastern state and I had to dismantle the entire facility with my Leatherman because they took all our tools... and the owner and CFO of the next company I would end up working for stopped by to interview me. I didn't know they were coming by for an interview. Honest. Heh. They hired me anyway. Boooooy, was that a mistake.

Not sure why I decided y'all needed to know that.

Virus seems to be gone now; please stay!) and should really go shower and all so I can be ready if someone calls me today. Though actually when anyone's called so far it's been to set up a later interview, but I should shower now anyway so I don't miss a call. But I don't wanna. I feel like my limbs all weigh fifty pounds or something. I was up late and all, but I got nearly eight hours; I don't understand it.
