I received the latest Dulcimer Players News magazine and put the accompanying sampler CD on in my car for my long commute. One track ended up on "repeat" and I was struck by how much it felt like it could be a theme to a Firefly spinoff or wannabe show or film.

After listening to it many times, I took the CD out and looked at the song title. "Just Like River" - I was floored! I can just hear it. After the intro, and then the theme, Simon comes in with a voiceover. "Yup, that's my sister!"

The part that really feels like the theme starts about a minute in, when the djembe player gets going. (And I wonder if it's any coincidence that the album came out in 2002?!)

...didn't see this until I got to work (where they have removed any audio capabilities from our computers..) but I will definitely check it out tonite at home!
