Nope, no landing here. South of Manistee I believe. Not exactly sure where it is, never taken it. I normally drive there via the UP for some peace and quiet before I have to deal with the large city crowds in Minni.

I do love to drive the express way once there though. Scares Laurelin to death every time.

Reposted from the Cooler:

And this, folks, may be my last post for a while. Or perhaps, just for a few days.

I rarely post over the weekend, and will start the new job on Monday. Posting will be non existent, at least for a while.

My email box is open 24/7.

I hope to see you all again very soon. If not, I will miss you terribly. I will try to check in when I can, or perhaps have someone - nudge, nudge, - will post for me by proxy. We'll see.

*hug* and to my Browncoat friends.

Morning,

Saturday, other half is officially graduated (seems silly as she already has job but the Harry Potter robes were kinda cool [only a week to go and have peaked too soon, having to re-read book 6 again having been reading the whole series in preperation and finished last weekend]). Had a lovely meal, which my stomach is now punishing me about and didn't sleep much so a bit groggy.

Congrates to Mavs on her job, hugs to all that want them pausing only to look slightly worried about the hugs pile, I am English and so slightly reserved after all.

*wanders to bar to make green tea*

Hope everyone is doing well.

Well, I am back from my big 'drive dad to the airport' day. Yes, yes, much excitement! The shiny part, though, is that he bought season one of Eureka and loaned it to me, so I have some pretty sci-fi to watch

Wow, all done with season one now. Think I've been looking at the screen too long. And I'm either imagining a lot of nods to Firefly or someone one the writing staff is a fan.

The "little things" are just that - little things. Not worth fighting over. And the good news there is that the "little things" are easier to forgive and easier to forget. You overcame a bigger obstacle in your relationship, so the small ones should be easier.

Hey - I am still awake so I thought I'd pop in and say goodnight since I forgot earlier when i first went to bed... then I lay in bed thinking that you would all think I don't love you and then I had to get back up and say goodnight... honestly - the way my brain works...

Jimi-bear - Honey I am so sorry you're having a crappy time! It sucks and you so don't deserve it! Ami's going through a lot right now, but that won't make it any easier - just know it's not all about you or her...huge hugs Darlin'

Penguin!! Thanks for the glompin' - I feel better for it already!! Take care of yourself - ice cold coke sounds wonderful! I drank a lot of Bailey's on ice cream - the ice cream was soothing, as was the Baileys' but now I think the whole milk thing wasn't such a good idea for a icky throat at all...

Hey Fly - it's good to see you in here... again!! I will get around to replying to your email eventually... I promise!!

I miss MsG and Mavourneen too... and where is Rose? And NVG?? Oh dear - now I will lie awake worrying about them too...

Honestly, I am not if overcoming the "big thing" was for the best, as everything seems to be going back to the way it was before. We don't agree on some small issue, then I end up getting villified (I think that's the word) because I "never agree with her". I used to just go along with what she said so we wouldn't fight, but I am tired of doing that, as I would like to do things my way every now and again too. *sigh*

Jimi - you are a lot bigger than Ami. Winning an argument might be her way of having some power over you. She might not feel like backing off if she thinks that she would be losing a lot of ground.

Try this. Select one thing for which each of you has responsibility. That becomes your turf, and you have the ultimate authority with regard to that thing. You need to agree that taking responsibility for the task gives that parson authority for the task.

For example: Laundry. If the laundry is "your thing" then the way that laundry is done is your decision, the soap purchased is up to you. Any argument about laundry by default needs to go to the owner of that task. That doesn't mean that you own laundry but don't have to do it - it has to be done by you and be 100% yours.

Or bathing the boys. If that is your task, then you decide the whens and the hows. No argument from Ami.

Eventually if you each take ownership for different tasks, then more and more things get split between you and Ami and you know that you won't need to argue over how any one thing is done. Start small. Grow.

Other things that you share you can assign an owner to the task even if it is shared. Or you can take turns making decisions.

You need her cooperation for this to work effectively. And you need to be responsible to Ami in your decisions. Just because you are in charge of the car doesn't mean that taking the car in for an oil-change justifies the purchase of glass-packs.

This'll work - but it takes cooperation. And if Ami sees the benefit of giving up control (you doing the baths or laundry) then it will be easier for her.

Fly, that makes a lot of sense, I assume you have tried something similar, and it worked for you. When things have calmed down again I will talk to her about it.

I can talk to you about today's misadventures if you like, so you can see somewhat of the way I think, though to most people it is kinda scary (I am an OCD abusive control-freak sadist who is most likely very bi-polar, to sum it up in one sentence).

EDIT: Welcome back MsG! (though I am hardly one to say this, as I have been away from the board for more'n a week now before today).
