You all know Nathan (Our Captain) Fillion is in this movie right? If you see him at a convention sometime, don't you want to be able to say I saw a romance/comedy for you and you were great!

"With last week's release of the war film Rescue Dawn, at least a half-dozen movies have come out this year that studio execs consider Oscar bait. They include the dramas The Namesake, Away From Her, Once and the comedy Waitress. Most have received rave reviews if not big box-office returns."

"Last month, Fox Searchlight began offering passes for academy and industry guild members to see Waitress and Once free in theaters, a privilege studios usually withhold until fall."

Kristin on our favorite myspace noticed this.

Waitress still in theaters!

IMHO Keri Russell might get a Best Actress nod. And maybe Cheryl Hines for Supporting Actress.

I'd love to see Nathan nominated for Supporting Actor. He was soooo funny and his character was so endearing despite his character's flaws (NO SPOILERS-lots haven't seen it yet.) It would really raise his profile.

Anony1-

As always...thanks for posting more good news. I would love to see Andy Griffith win for best supporting actor.

I was hoping to hear some Oscar Buzz for this Film with all the wonderful reviews it was receiving.

Let it be known all over that Hollywood lost another wonderful female writer/ director. Adrienne Shelly will be sorely missed.

And if anyone knows where to get the soundtrack for this film.....please let me know.

I'd like the soundtrack too, or at least the name of the song when Jeanna has that grin plastered all over her face---I won't go farther so I don't spoil it.

Andy Griffith might well be nominated and he really did great work but it would effectively shut out Nathan. I feel this way despite Andy being from North Carolina and the great things that he's done.

No news on a soundtrack yet.

I found this thread with some info on the music http://waitressmovie.net/?page_id=42&forum=1&topic=12

Hope it helps.

Now that's just shiny. Al kinds of shiny.

But I worry about the Oscar curse.
