Now as for the other...may I suggest a night of show and tell. First she relaxes and shows you all the things she does ( touching and thinking) to get herself ...um across the finish line. Telling you and showing you how slowly or quickly to move and how much pressure to use...then you do the same. It has to be full on exactly what the person would do ( and does generally end up with the person er crossing the finish line in front of you) but it gives you both a really good idea of what to do to um well cross the finish line together as well as being playfully naughty and fun..

Jonny- I have never been offended by anything you said ( but I am rather hard to offend as I take nothing personally) HUGS and please don't go ok!

OK the beach was fun , for the most part, though I did throw my back out and then there was the disaster of getting home. We went to the airport on Saturday about 3 pm to take sis ( whose flight left at 4)and we wanted to take her to the gate to help with baby so we went to check in for our 6pm flight...only to discover that mom had written it down wrong and our flight had left at 6 am. There were no more flights that night to SLC so we were stuck there had to move our tickets to next mornings 6 am run and get a hotel ( which was an awful Howard Johnson and the only thing available by the airport as it was the busiest travel weekend of the year) and then had to get up at 4 am and fly home Sun...
I shall post pics and tell better stories in a bit...must move the water

Woohoo, msg is back. Yep, we could've used a little bap from you last week.

Favorite comfort foods:

1. Grandma's potato salad. It is unlike any other potato salad and if I tell you what it actually is...you will all mock me.
2. Grandma's egg salad.
3. Um....weiners. Grandma called 'em that and that is what they will always remain. Hotdogs with no buns. Boiled.
4. Tang. Grandma always gave us Tang after we had been out playing in the yard all day.
5. Mom's pancakes with peanut butter and maple syrup. They are as big as a plate and you only need one.
6. Birthday Burritos. Totally gross ingredients that come together into a sticky yummy concoction that we were only allowed to have for our birthday. To this day my mom will make them for our B-Day if we ask. I'd rather have birthday burritos than ANYTHING else for me B-Day meal. Yum.
7. Grandma's meatloaf.

Notice the decided slant towards Grandma. Mom didn't cook, save a very select few things, and my bro and I spent a lot of time at Grandma's.

I think I might need to go eat breakfast. That's quite a long list of comfort foods...I must be hungry or something...maybe nostaglic for my Grandma.

Jonny- LOL HUGS yeah I threw my back out on the trip. Moving the water must happen as we were gone for 9 days and the lawn/beds were only watered once and SLC has had a week of record high 104-105 degree highs....my poor plants. My lavender is sickly and brown. I'm hoping they will all recover.

EDIT- comfort food...hmm for me it'd be grits with cheese, spaghetti, and chili dog from the Varsity ( as it was always the place we stopped when we first got to Atlanta)

It's always the "mom/grandma" foods, isn't it? I'm just as fond of the memories associated with the foods than I am with eating the food itself. I wonder if that is just a brain wiring? Could be, because along with comfort foods there can also be comfort music, comfort sights...

Count me in on the financing of a South Carolina Browncoat Bootlegger. Not really a big vodka fan but recently had a little in some sugar free Great Value Cranberry flavored juice drink. Nice. Very nice.

I need help. Either I need some breathing strips or someone to re-break my nose because I have a snoring problem. Seems easier for me to voluntarily sleep on the couch a couple of nights a week. But that means I kick myself outta my own room. How nuts is that?

OK I have 2 comfort sandwiches

1- Hot hard boiled egg, white bread, salt, pepper, mayo...toast the bred, slather it with mayo, slice the egg while still very hot and arrange on bread. sprinkle salt and pepper put top of sandwich on and eat

2- thick white bread, tomato( grown fresh in garden and fully ripe ) and mayo..my mom sometimes puts thin sliced vidalia onion on as well, but I think that is yucky:)

Well, I just don't want people choosing up sides and splitting the thread. I'd rather leave than have something like that happen. I also don't want to see people who have expressed support for me catching any guff on account of it. I recognize that I did wrong. There's no argument there. I've blown second chances. Morning all. I had one of the weirdest weekends ever, preparing for my brother's birthday. Then found out that my other brother's new girlfriend is 6.5 years younger than him, had to tease him about that one. So it's one of those days when I sit down to work and have no idea what I was working on on Friday, hehe.

Comfort food: my mom's cornbread (the secret is the vanilla pudding mix!), pretty much anything with bacon ("bacon bits" don't count), and my mom's Thanksgiving stuffing, which consists mostly of cornbread and bacon, lol. Home-made Chex mix, M&Ms and peanuts together (not peanut M&Ms so much), and Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk. All have specific family memories associated with them.

Ok, time to go paw through my work piles and find out what the hell I'm suppose to be doing, hehe.

Comfort sandwhich(s)

Tuna melt with home made fries.

Hotdog sandwich on sour dough roll. Hot dog lightly blackened over fire, dusted with pepper, slice of Colby Jack, ketchup and mustard. Chips and salsa. COLD glass of iced tea.

Temps? 109 a few days ago. Funny that it felt hotter at 95. More humidity. After 105 humidity burns off. Yay!?!?

ADD: CK, MMMMMM! Can of PB with a bag of M&M's dumped in and a spoon. Great "I just got dumped on by the world so I'll watch a funny/scary/action movie as loud as I want and eat my delicious and not so healthy snack" food.

Hugs, MsG! Pain of any type sucks, pain on vacation sucks more, and unexpected pain on vacation sucks even more, IMO. At least I have a fairly good idea of what my health will be like on vacation, and can plan accordingly. (I've already started doing research for the next one, and good god there's a lot of stairs at Disney World!

I don't mind the doctoring, and there's always the off-chance that you'll run into something I haven't researched yet.

I do have symptoms similar to rheumatoid arthritis, but my joints don't get warm or swollen, they just hurt (the type of pain you have in your joints when you run a high fever, alternating with pain that feels like being kicked by a steel-toed boot right in the joint). Blood tests for the Rheumatoid Factor have come back negative, and x-rays showed no physical changes to my joints, so RA has been ruled out, more or less. But RA is an autoimmune disease, so there are several similarities to what's going on with me.

That reminds me, I need to call my insurance company today to make sure that I'm authorized to see the new doctor (#14), since the Immunologist was a dud. Thanks Fly, I totally would have forgotten to do that today.

HUGS CK hmmm have you tried an allergist specializing in children?? ok I know it sounds weird, but it might work... childrens specialists tend to be better at wide range diagnostics. Or instead of and MD have you thought of and OD they specialize in long term and preventative medicine.

HELL'S KITTEN

I just had what I imagine to be the best oreo-cookie-sunday-shake ever.

Heh, the immunologist who ended up not be schnazzy at all was actually an allergy specialist. He was an absolute asshole, but at this point I don't think even a nice allergist/immunologist would help. It's pretty clearly autoimmune, and that immunologist at least didn't know his ass from his hand when it came to autoimmune diseases. (Pardon my language, but that guy really pissed me off.)

Apparently for an autoimmune disease, I need to see a rheumatologist (I've seen 2), -OR- an endocrinologist (seen 2), -OR- a neurologist (seen 3, not counting the ones who ran all the various tests), -OR- a dermatologist (seen 1, who was completely uninterested). Part of the problem is that there's no type of doctor that specializes in autoimmune diseases specifically -- I've said before that I feel like it's like sending a cancer patient to a dermatologist for the hair loss, rather than having one specialty, oncology, that knows about and can diagnose and treat all aspects of cancer.

So I'm stuck being bounced around from doctor to doctor, each of whom say "well I don't know, your symptoms don't fit the 3 diseases I'm capable of diagnosing, so you must have fibromyalgia, or be fat and depressed." Those doctors get fired on the spot. I've had some luck with doctors who genuinely want to help and want to explore all the odd possibilities, but most of them give up after six months, max. And the few who keep on plugging, I ended up firing, because after 2 years and over an inch thick of lab reports, they aren't going to find something they hadn't thought to check for already.

I've looked into ODs and other "alternatives", but since this is definitely getting worse as time goes by, and may require hospitalization eventually, I'm going to keep hacking it out with the MDs for a bit longer. If this is autoimmune, like it seems to be, then the sooner I get a diagnosis and get started on treatment, the longer I'll be able to put off full on disability. At this point I've accepted that I will eventually be in a wheelchair. I'm just hoping to turn 40 before that happens. And a lot of days I can only hope for 30.

If I sound bitter, it's because I am, and it comes out more when I'm in the midst of a flare (I'm in the first major one since joining FFF.net a year ago). My whole life -- job, house, hobbies, friends, grocery shopping, even sex -- is structured around this, and I'm still looking for a doctor who gives a

. So my current hope is that this new lady doctor I've signed up to see will be sympathetic, and if she can't help will at least consider sending me to Mayo Clinic.
