I don't think you will be lost if you just jump in. also they are doing reruns at their regular time, you might wanna check your listings, you all might want to check out standoff with Gina Torres (Zoe) on Fridays its very good and also not something you had to see all the time to understand, shes awesome!

Just look how long it took for another X Files, I hope we don't have to Waite years and years, but I think we will, if ever, any thoughts on this? All the actors are moving on as well they should, but its bad for us that want a resurrection not an end!

It is too much of a commitment in time to ask of all the members of the cast and production team now that they are trying to go on to other projects, as their livelihood demands. A theatrical sequel is probably out of the question, also, since as I understand it the original BDM did not do as well as we all could have hoped. The DVD sales were mind-blowing, from what I hear, but unless I misunderstand the way Hollywood gauges success, you can sell all the DVDs you want and as far as they are concerned it isn't worth a whit if you didn't put butts in the seats to start with. I am also not looking for a direct to DVD sequel release. While some of the cast of Firefly were unknowns, a goodly number were folk who have never exactly had a hard time finding work, or at least who haven't since then. In my mind, direct to DVD releases are bad for an actor's credibility, so unless it is a new story with a new ship (or possibly the same ship, showing the continuing tale of Serenity after Mal marries Inara and they settle down someplace to scream at each other and raise babies, and passes the boat he loves on to a new captain [Zoe?], even though it pains him, symbolically showing that he is now free of the Battle of Serenity Valley once and for all...), I'm not holding out for a direct to DVD tale, and in those circumstances, I'm not sure I would want one. It just wouldn't be the same. Where our last, best hope lies, I think, is a Sci-Fi channel mini-series. Sci-Fi loves mini-series in general, even when they seem to have to organize and drive the project themselves. There is also a precedent for them being involved in such projects in response to fan outcry, in the Farscape scenario. I believe Sci-Fi still has the broadcast rights for the Firefly episodes, and as long as they are holding on to those, there is a hope to get flyin' again. Realistically, sci-fi channel is where we hang those hopes we all have. All of us Browncoats, old and new, though, need to be mighty careful what we wish for. I was, and am, a huge fan of Babylon 5, and I was sorry to see it go. But the continuation in "Crusade" was nowhere near up to the quality I'd expected of B5, and even though the last episode of it had some promise, I'm not sure I'd have been happy with it in the long run. Then the "Legend of the Rangers" they did on Sci-Fi a few years back was just an absolute joke. It was so ridiculous, I was laughing too hard to realize the pain of the final death rattle of my then-favorite series until well after it was over. This all, of course, is to say nothing of the way many Star Wars fans must feel about what USED TO BE their favorite movies before Eps 1,2 & 3 came out and turned Darth Vader from an overwhelming force of brutality into a whiny drama queen. Painful as it is to live with only 14 episodes and a BDM, I'd keep it that way if it meant sacrificing the quality and risking marring the brilliance of what we already have. Still, when Peacekeeper Wars came on to follow up Farscape, it was so awesome it made my brain hurt. At the cost, I wasn't even going to buy Farscape on DVD (Anybody know why those were always so much more expensive than every other series?), but PW was so brain-meltingly great that I had to have it, and couln't bear not to own the 40% or so of the episodes of Farscape that were at that level, so now I have the whole series. So as I said, we do have a place to hang our hopes. Mine are cautious... I've been tore up pretty good in similar situations past... I would have no problem with a direct to DVD movie or a mini-series on Sci-Fi. Those venues don't have the stain that the've had in the past and are judging by falling ticket sales will probably be the wave of the future. However, I truly believe the verse will continue in one form or another. If Joss has a story to tell he WILL find a way to tell it. Most likely through comics or novels.
