Roommate wanted for Dragon*Con ASAP

FIREFLYGAL


Just had a cancellation in Shuttle 2 (I have 2 rooms reserved), need someone to jump in ASAP Here's the info:

Hotel: Marriott Marquis
Room: Quad
Dates: Thursday 30 Aug - Monday 03 Sept (Will add a day if necessary)
Space Available: 1
Gender restriction: doesn't matter but your bunkmate will be female (MSG)
Smoking or Non: Hotel is non-smoking but one of the "crew" is a smoker (Colonel Tristan)
Alcohol: Yes (prefer to have only bunk mates 21+)
Cost with tip, taxes etc will run approx $200-$225 likely less. We put this aside in advance so we don't spend it :)
Others in room: Tristan (Tom), Lokis (Laura) and MSG (Lila)

I am pointing out that I have completely vetoed Tom smoking in the room at all!!! Not that I don't love our beloved Col, but I'm not willing to die for him ( asthmatic and all) so it's really a non smoking room:)

Marriott is a non-smoking hotel, so no worries about smoking in the room at all, MSG. But they can smoke outside and that "smoking thing" tends to "linger" but I never noticed it as an issue with River but just wanting to "warn" folks.

Ya know, guys....one room par=tay...for browncoats at, say $5 a head COULD cover the room cost...I'm just sayin'...
Maybe the 76th could 'host' (i.e. pay...) a 'thank you to the SEBC??....just a thunk. I'm in if ya do this. I JUST learned that my roommate is indeed a 'go' for D*C...otherwise I'd be taking you up on this.

It would be a selling point for me, but I doubt MSG wants to share a bed with me. (being kinda big and a tendancy to thrash a bit in my sleep and all) Besides, I think my roommates would be a bit peeved if I jumped ship on them at this point, especially with the reservations being in my name and all.

I live about 7 miles from the hotels. It's a cheap cab ride, no matter how many trips to and fro one takes, when compared to the price of a hotel room. Maybe I should offer up the large sectional couch and/or the floor space I gots for a minimal fee... ?

Oh, I'd agree completely. The parties, the convenience, the feeling of being IN the Con itself....That's why I've never really pushed the idea much before. I live too close to the Con to justify myself getting a room there, but too far away for anyone to crash here while attending. I'm thinking more of a last minute, rooms are all sold out, overflow , Plan C option.
