MsG, I'd bring some earplugs to D*C. Even if the door between the rooms does get closed, you'll probably still hear me snoring through the walls.

LOL yeah MisterG has insommnia and snores...oor guy so I just clap in the earplugs and sleep through it all.

Jimi I bring them everywhere:)Though I am a heavy sleeper for the most part, noises will wake me.
The earthquake thing made me laugh. Once , while I was asleep one morning there was an earthquake and I heard my closet rattling and kept yelling at my sister to stop it ( from under the pillow) I finally got ticked enough to sit up and yell at her only to find the room was empty and it was the earthquake rattling everything.

Ok there is so nothing better than a brisk 2 mile run followed by a hot shower and food:) Happy now! ( and smelling like Pina Colada)

HUGS Jimi oh I ran already...between first post and the most recent...I do 2 miles in about 18 min. Usually I do yoga in the morning before work and then run after school. it's so nice to have the chance for a morning run:)
Oh speaking of I hope that's not going to bug everyone at D*C that I'm doing yoga in the morning. I don't think there's a vcr or dvd in the rooms so I shall have to do a standard series, but I can be really quiet when I do it:)

Last year we brought a DVD player so we could watch some episodes, but never got around to it. May do that again this year.

If it gets to bugging me, I'll just have to make it known that I didn't leave ALL of the ammo in the car . (j/k, I wouldn't shoot you unless you were armed and able to shoot back)

I'm in the other room anyhow, though I imagine that door won't be closed once we get in there until we check out.

BIG HUGS Jimi and have a good one

Actually I do smell like pina colada after a run ( and a shower with pina colada body wash/shampoo...and moisturizing with pina colada lotion)Now however I am just sweaty... I hate yard work, but boy oh boy does the yard look better. Weeded the side beds and then did the complete trim back of all bushes and trees in the yard, trimmed the roses, whacked out all the stray trees, and of course, did poop patrol ( doggies are little poop machines) However I have got to do something about the plum trees currently dropping buckets of plumbs daily in my yard..

OH at this point it'd be chucking plums at people shouting *(&^&#$@#$%!! House hunting sucks! At this point the only way this will work is if I don't look at any listing until MisterG picks out his top 5 and then I only look at his top 5. See if I can see the other houses out there I am bound to fall for a house he won't even consider, but if I don't know about any others and only see his choices, then it's all good...
And then my new sterling/garnet necklace, earring, bracelet set ( with butterflies) and I am happy again:)

*wanders in*

Morning all,

it would appear that 5 hours of decent sleep is better than 7-8 hours interrupted Had an awesome night last night, gig was great, I'm just thinking how to explain

*pulls out wand (12" holly with dragon heartstring not the other kind, one track mind you lot)*

I'll show you!

*waves wand and transfigures bar*

the twisted toucan is a small cafe & bar, about 12ft wide by 30ft long, the front is made up of tall windows with a door in the left side if you're facing the street. Along the wall directly in front of the door is an old upright piano and directly opposite is a tiled fireplace. Stood on the window side of this fireplace facing into the bar is a man with an acoustic guitar, plugged into the pa system via too many effect pedals but we'll come back to him later. In front of him are set a couple of tables surrounded by chairs wherever they can be stuffed, all of it is old wood furniture set on uneven floorboards. The tables, fireplace and piano have t-lights dropped into green glass holders dotted round them that throw more shadows than light as night begins to fall. The bar is set on the right hand side of the room and comes half way across the space, it has a couple of modern pump stands for beer and shelves lined with bottles of spirits. Sat on one of the stools that surrounds the bar is a man in blue jeans and a battle of serenity t-shirt, welcoming you all in with a smile. The walls are covered in posters of musicians and pictures of the Guinness toucan, if you walk along past the bar there are more tables and benches behind. The man at the front starts to strum, playing for himself at first, driving the ugly screaming kids from the bar, their shrieking fading into retreat as he starts to sing of real life. Stories follow, surreal and pointless interspaced between songs both profound and mundane, sung to the bar and the passers by outside who look, sometimes stopping, sometimes pointing, some even come in but all walk away changed. People come in and people leave, having accepted yellow vinyl singles gifted to them even if the moment of departure is mid song. My favourite song's beauty is shattered by the gift giving but somehow this pulls the shards together into something else cool. For three hours and three minutes this interaction continues until time is called and everyone slowly makes their way home letting reality gradually seep back into their lives.

Yep, it's me.

As Rose has mentioned, I won't be at D*C this year due to lack of cash and my passport not being approved (I think the forms must've been sent to Antarctica for some reason, they've been in the loop so long).

Between work and sleep, I have little free time these days, and with a near-deceased computer, I can't just hop online like I used to, instead I must rely on the family computer being available.

Due to the work/sleep issues, and some other stuff happening, I'm undergoing what I'd call a 'crisis of faith', except for the fact that I'm an atheist. So while my religious convictions remain solid, my faith in myself, and where my life is headed (or not headed) is all gone to pot. For now, I'm going to have to withdraw from the public eye (to some extent) while I work out what to do with myself.

ps: I still haven't gotten any books from MsG, maybe they went the same place as my passport application.

still bored Emma?

Oh absolutely! I've been trying to learn vast amounts of information about anatomy and physiology of animals in preparation for teaching it at Uni level in a few weeks. Now my head hurts and I still can't remember a thing. Why do there have to be so many bones?! Why can't the body be simple? Sigh! Next term is going to be FUN!

Sorry, feeling grumpy because someone has smashed in the snack machine so I've been cut off from crisps and chocolate! How am I supposed to concentrate without sugar?!

I'm gonna show you a little trick that mom showed me when you weren't around. It was for special events just like this. Oh yeah, one more thing...I'm glad you changed your last name, you son of a bitch!

Ok Emma, teaching at uni level is pretty impressive and there are that many bones because of the random effects of chance (decides not to poke holes in evolutionary theory as someone might mention intelligent design and I'll get upset!)

Instead, mmh beer, takes pint (generally I shun lager unlesss it is very hot!)

If mavs is still about, can I sugget Test Match Special from the www.bbc.co.uk/sport website, a true slice of Britishness and I like the idea of someone half way across the world listening to the same things as me

Thanks, gee. I will give it a try. Apparently, it is kosher around here to listen to Net radio while working. Thought I'd give some stations a try. Anyone else have suggestions?

Firstly, the Flying Spaghetti Monster did indeed create us all, and I for one am grateful to be touched by his noodly appendage. RAmen.

Secondly, y'all are weirdos on that side of the pond, drinking beer hot (or even lukewarm). *shudder* To each his own, though, I suppose.

Mavs, glad to have made you laugh. :)

ok, firstly the weird Yank habit of over chilling beer so it doesn't taste of anything is beginning to take over here but that doesn't make it right.

Secondly, a good cold beer on a hot day is a thing of joy but we don't have that many hot days!

Thirdly, proper ale is served slightly cool, not tepid and certainly not warm but should not be chilled, a pleasant draft of which should help refresh you on a hot day and re-invigorate you a freezing cold rainy day in January when you really need it. Well that and the whiskey chaser!
