I'm new here, but I've been a fan of Firefly and Serenity for quite a while :). First off, when I edited my profile it said at the bottom if I wanted to make my own avatar I had to email someone; who precisely am I supposed to email and how? Second, a leaf on the wind mentioned something called the 'river tam sessions' or something like that, what are they? That's all I got for now, may think of more questions later.

The River Tam Sessions were a viral marketing scheme for "Serenity" that starred Summer Glau as River and Joss Whedon as an interviewer. It was meant to document River's deterioration the longer she was in the academy. They can be found around the internet, and will be offered as an extra on the new DVD special edition release.

Also, how do you get like manwithpez who has is avi next to his name instead of under it? or is that only possible with default avis?

Next to is only available for folks who use the default avatars, or to some of the very first users of this site who had Haken (fireflyfan.net's webmaster) specifically tie a custom avatar to their profile. Those with user numbers under 5K are the most likely to have the custom work.

Don't bother emailing him with a pic. He no longer will post custom pics. The best you can do is what you have - tying your own pic to underneath your name.
