Can i please get a straight answer on that? I want a real reason why they won't release it to anyone. Numerous stations have asked but why dont they get to use it?

Please don't give an answer like " Cause F*X is being run by idiots who dont know a good show even if millions of people liked it." But i would agree with you.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Which numerous stations is this? The impression I have from what Joss said in an interview on the Done the Impossible DVD is that he asked Fox Broadcasting for the rights to Firefly the day they were canceled, and they said yes, and he left and hasn't spoken to them since. Those, I believe, were nearly his exact words. At least an exact paraphrase. He shopped the rights to, as you say, numerous stations, but no one was interested. Universal, finally, was, and got the rights to the 'verse. Now, here's where it gets more fuzzy, but the theory put forth is that the show has not and likely will not come back on the small screen as a series because Universal negotiated the film rights and no other screen version of the 'verse can be made until those rights expire, if ever.
FOX Broadcasting owns the rights to what was filmed for their station, and have sold the right to air said episodes to the Sci-Fi channel. Twentieth Century Fox, an unrelated but easily confused company, owns the production rights throughout the 'verse.
Hope that cleared a few things up.

20th Century Fox happily produced Serenity; they're not blocking anything from going forward. I'm interested, though, in where you're hearing that there are channels gung-ho to bring Firefly back. (Universal owns the SciFi channel, btw, as well as NBC, and SciFi and Universal HD are both airing the existing episodes of Firefly. Maybe that's what you heard?)

Rights to Firefly would cost any channel millions and let's say the Sci-fi channel wnated to buy the rights that would be too much since they are a small cable channel and it's a risk making Firefly cause it was a failed tv show and Serenity didn't do too well either.

Maybe China would want to produce a Firefly TV Series. They've got all our cash now, and they crave to be an international "player". Firefly's verse is chock full of goodies the Chinese would like, and they could certainly add some of their own little extras...like maybe casting Zhang Ziyi as some type of Alliance heavy who's searching for River, as she was Rivers's martial arts instructor at the Academy, and now she wants to bring River back and apologize to her for not helping her in the past.
Anybody happen to have the phone number for Zhang?...or Ang?...or Raymond Chow?
